Yolanda Gonzalez is a lifelong resident of Reno, Nevada, with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. For more than 25 years, she has served as a Manager and Mortgage Consultant, specializing in emerging markets and helping clients achieve the American dream of homeownership.
A consistently recognized top producer, Yolanda has earned numerous awards throughout her career as a Top Producing Loan Officer. Prior to entering the mortgage industry, she worked as a Business Development Officer for some of the largest financial institutions in Northern Nevada. She also served as a licensed Insurance Agent with MassMutual and made history as the first woman and minority appointed to the Governor’s Cabinet as Director of the Nevada Department of Taxation.
Yolanda earned her degree in Business Administration from Truckee Meadows Community College. She completed the Foundations of Banking program through the American Institute of Banking and holds a certification in State Executives Leadership Studies from the Governor’s Center at Duke University. She has maintained her mortgage broker/banker license (NMLS #240863) since 1999.
Throughout her career, Yolanda has received numerous honors, including the Minority Small Business Advocate Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Latinos Who Dare Award from Latinos for Political Action, and multiple Congressional and Senatorial recognitions. She has been featured multiple times in Scotsman’s Guide, most recently being named among the Top 1% Mortgage Originators in America. She is also a recipient of the Nevada Housing Division’s “Superhero Award” and the Nevada Women’s Fund 2023 Woman of Achievement Award.
Deeply committed to community service, Yolanda remains actively involved in local organizations. She has served as President of the Hispanic Business Council in Reno, is currently a Board Director for the Northern Nevada NAHREP chapter, and co-chairs the Legislative & Policy Pillar of the Latino Stakeholders Council, along with participating in numerous other community initiatives.
