If this was the last mortgage funding company on the planet I would refuse their service. They instructed the title to be set up incorrectly and it is costing us more than $5,000 to fix and it has taken nearly 2 years of our attorneys time. We have documented emails when their team instructs the title to be set up as if it was a business transaction when our grandmother was co signing for us. Any one with half a brain knows this is not the way this title should be set up so that when grandma passed away we would need to go through probate verses transitioning to our ownership. I have the email when NAF directs the way the title is to be set up (which they are NOT supposed to do EVER). I currently own 2 properties and will be purchasing another but will never give this company my business again and would urge no one else to either.

We were told by Eva our house would be funded in 14 days that was in February 2021 she is a loan lady helping a client by our house. We have been told 5 times our house would funded and lied to. Now we have until Friday 3/20/2021 to know if it will get funded. We should have been funded feb 26th, 2021 She lacks communication she doesn’t respond to emails, texts or calls, but spend hours everyday on Facebook explaining how to buy a house . I’m glad you sold all these house but our’s how do you have two managers and yourself “expediting” this when you don’t communicate with our lady viA email in Arizona until it’s convenient to you. Obviously you’re taking on to much loans when ours should of been processed months ago

I received a call offering a refinance. After I gave them all my personal information, their agent was suppose to call me back but I never received a call back. Because I had a second on my house they assured me that their company could combine it and refinance. I never received the call and now I am concern that they have all my info and I would certainly not do business with them. Can't return a call; can;t be trusted. That is so unprofessional.

**** Attention Veterans **** Kevin Garcia….. steer clear of this guy, he’s not in the business of helping Veterans at all. Been trying to get him or anyone from his team to send a copy of my VA Appraisal to my new lender for over two weeks and they won’t even return an email or phone call. He’s obviously upset because I fired them for shady practice. I’ve reported them to the VA Regional Loan Center.

Horrible experience! New American Funding caused us to lose 10k in opportunity cost on a failed refi, and 4 months of heart-ache. Don’t be fooled by advertised rates or promotions. RUN AWAY and use a local lender! We initiated a cash-out refinance in Dec 2019. We had a deadline of the end of February because of new purchase that would be closing at that time. We communicated our situation to the loan officer (Antwaun Dawson), and they said it would be no problem closing in time. Suffice to say, their incompetence delayed our refi closing. We even signed closing papers and then they never funded the loan! We have a log of over 20 phone calls (hours and hours of wasted time), several mistakes and outright lies. Half way through the process my loan was transferred to a manager (Jeff Keeter) because of all the issues we were having, but things didn’t get better, they actually got worse! What they told me on the phone, never matched what they sent in writing. We nearly were not able to complete our new purchase, and we were never able to complete our cash out refi. New American is refusing to make it right, and now because of COVID, the lending market has changed, and I can’t even find another lender to do the refi anymore! I called and complained to everyone in the company that I could get ahold of, including a customer service manager (Christian Rosales), who said he would look into our case. Of course, he never got back to me. I am going to report them to the state governance board.

Given there popular Sunday Morning radio show, I'm sure most all folks would say they had a delightful experience with NAF...I am an exception to that rule. It took 5 months of unbelievable patience just to get a decline at the end of it all for one 30 day late on my account. What was really the kicker, it was because of Their exhaustive process that caused me to be late in the first place, with promise after promise that we were closing at the end of the month. I have NEVER experienced such a mishandling of a file in my entire span of owning homes and refinancing. Of all the loans they close, you can't tell me that having a second deed of trust would take more than five months to reconcile and then, to NO avail at that. I can't have been the first and only customer with a hurdle to jump. Having to accomplish most of the leg work myself to reconcile my file and have it pushed to underwriting... to total more than three times... and with two separate underwriter's, is enough to make anyone shoot themselves. Here is what I expected from ANY reputable lender: after all of the information was received and it reaches the underwriter's desk, they then tell you ALL that is necessary to get this loan approved. EVERYTHING...all at once because they can clearly see what is holding the file hostage! NOT jump one hurdle, back to underwriting and there's yet another hurdle to jump...and then another...and then another...and then another. How is it that they could not clearly see what was needed IN THE BEGINNING to have the loan approved and reduce the leg work of the time consuming items requested? It was theee most God awful experience I ever had to endure. Steffany, another loan processor only made things worse by pulling her hair out because she had too many loans to close on-time, as if I didn't want to be counted in that number, so she couldn't spend time to properly work my file. Instead, she gave me information that sent me more than two months out of my way by requesting me to retrieve time consuming paperwork that wasn't even needed and from the wrong company too boot!! At the end of the day, it was relatively easy to get all that was requested when the right company was contacted but, by that time, as it had been five months, and I had received a 30 day late. Now, the loan would be denied. A complete waste of time. I won't even bother to mention the process of escalating a complaint. Amy was useless and too busy to return a phone call. While I will say that Tim was a delight to work with and even helped to keep me from jumping from the roof top in the beginning, toward the end...even he gave me the impression that he was not the team player I assumed him to be. So, all in all NAF may help the average Joe when the file is simple and you have NO ISSUES, but all that talk about being knowing the industry and no one can help you like they can...is a bunch of Bull and I would be grateful never to have the opportunity to use them again for another corporate beat down...because that's exactly what my experience left me feeling like. BEWARE!!!

Beware. I chose this company due to their great reviews for customer service and for being a direct lender. I completed a home refi with their Tustin branch about 2 months ago and closed at the end of April. Through that refi, my taxes and insurance were impounded and were to be paid for the year through escrow. Well, I got a phone call 4 days ago from my insurance company saying that my home insurance that escrow was to pay, was NOT paid. The insurance company advised that my home insurance was going to be cancelled if payment was not received in a few days. Soon after I hung up with the insurance company, I called my loan officer, Tae Kim, from the Tustin branch. He said that he was going to straighten it out and speak to escrow. His exact words were, "I will take care of it." Well guess what, I received a phone call from my insurance company yesterday morning, Thursday, saying that my home insurance was cancelled. Obviously it was not taken care of after I trusted he would. I tried calling my loan officer after receiving the news with no answer and no call back from him or anyone from New American Funding, from morning to evening. Text messages, emails, voice messages on 3 different numbers, still nothing from my loan officer, Tae Kim. Today is Friday approaching late afternoon, and still no call...omg.. Now my family of 6 and I are wondering where that money went? And nervous that we are not covered with home insurance as we speak. If I could go back, I would choose a different loan company as their customer service has been nothing but horrendous. I just tried calling their main line and it was a phone answering service. All the lady said was that she was going to relay the message. When I asked why I couldn't speak with anyone, she just kept telling me she was going to relay the message. I am receiving nothing but the run-around with this company...And here I am with no home insurance and just crossing my fingers that nothing happens, and wondering what happened with the $1700 from escrow that was supposed to pay my insurance 2 months ago, and if I should just pay out of my own pocket? Absolutely ridiculous this company! If you hear the ad on the radio ha ha, don't get duped like me. Once you close, they could care less about you and their service.

This was the absolute worst experience of our lives. My wife applied for a mortgage from this place and was pre-approved right away by our loan officer Kat Lee. To be fair, Kat was a pleasure to deal with, but unfortunately for us Kat went out on maternity leave in the middle of the process and that’s when the clusterf*** began. Her team from her manager Shawn to her process assistant Cynthia totally dropped the ball. Communication was virtually non-existent. Shawn never once answered any e-mails, phone calls, etc. from us about the loan. Cynthia was just as bad with communications, when we did get something it was generally one- or two-word responses. While yes, the loan FINALLY closed and was funded, our closing was delayed 5 TIMES. It was 5 times that they actually scheduled closing with the title company and at the last second pulling the closing with another loan requirement, and it was all stuff that should have been disclosed or asked for well before the last second. Everyone from the title company to both parties and their realtors could not believe or have ever experienced dealing with a loan service this inept. The final straw was asking for something that FHA REQUIRES for a loan on a property with a private well and a septic tank and field. This requirement has to do with distances between the well and the septic tank and field and could have resulted in a denial of an FHA loan. FHA REQUIRES a mortgage company to KNOW what the requirements are for an FHA loan. These clowns did not know what was involved with doing an FHA loan with a well and septic. We had already moved over 1000 miles and were in the place on the assurance that this loan was good to go and it wasn’t. We could have lost EVERYTHING and been homeless because of their incompetence. We ended up closing 10 days late, our sellers were ready to pull the plug on the deal and evict us. The stress was unbelievable on my wife and myself. Do yourself a favor and skip right by this circus.
