Communication from the start was lacking. I almost walked away from the deal because most of the Communication was through email. She even asked me if i received her previous text knowing full well she never sent me a text message. I had to call the corporate office quite a few times to get the answers I needed to keep moving forward through the mortgage process. The closing date was changed multiple times and didn't get the final closing costs until the morning of closing. Even told the seller she was waiting all on me to provide the paperwork she needed to move forward. After that i got a call from sellers wife threatening to kick me out of the house I plan to purchase. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. The house was supposed to close October 15th 2021. I didn't close until January 10th 2022. Due to the addendum contract it was scheduled to close on January 7th 2022 but due to an error on her end, it was pushed out to the 10th. If it wasn't for the goodness of the sellers heart, I would be homeless now. Phone calls are way better than emails in regards to effective Communication. It was too much of miscommunication of what was needed. I will never go through this again.

Daniel told us they would not sell our load. They did sell our loan, and our loan has now been sold three times in 3 months, every sale comes with its own logistical nightmare and fear of late payments. Anyone can originate a loan for you, look elsewhere than NAFD and Daniel Arias.

There was no urgency and things were requested that baffled the title company and realtor. We told Holmgren about this purchase in 06/06/17. We said we were ready to close in 10 days on 11/13/17 and didn’t close until 1/03/18. Until we corrected their completely inaccurate assumption on 12/6/17 somehow it was thought, even though we told them we were ready in November, that our close date was 01/30/18. It took 46 days from when we said we would be ready to close with 6 months advanced notice.

This wasn't about Sheila specifically. I think she did the best she could. The process in general was terrible. The same information was asked for over and over. Sometimes in the same way, sometimes slightly differently. We had to explain the same thing multiple times to multiple people. Really made what should have been an easy transaction annoying and difficult. I would never finance a transaction through you and/or Finance of America again.

I’ve had a disappointing experience with this company based in California, despite them being licensed in Texas. Their lack of knowledge and expertise led to subpar service. Managers and staff often provided contradictory information, stalled progress, and had poor communication. I encountered numerous issues, including inconsistent responses and unfulfilled promises. Based on my experience, I would advise caution if considering their services.

I spent 9 months trying to refinance and couldn't. There are no people more inefficient and unprofessional. They charged me $650 for an aprissa in September 2020, and by February 2021 they still hadn't done it, after making me spend a lot of money on paperwork and asking for the same documents over and over again. I don't recommend them to anyone; you'll waste your time and money.

10/10 don’t recommend. Unless you want to have zero contact and wait forever for help.
