The information at the beginning of the process was incorrect (no appraisal would be needed?). Information loaded onto the secure portal was over looked and had to be sent again and again.

Better would have been if the process had been timely and I hadn’t have to deal with different officers. Started with one who never said he was leaving. Got another who couldn’t respond because I had to wait for the paperwork person. Paperwork brought to my home was incorrect and no one ever answered my questions as the notary couldn’t answer. It took 2 months to go through this process. Was that amount of time timely? Or necessary? The loan process could’ve been better... I have questions.

Overall, Shane is a good guy and friendly to work with. Communication was really good until we started the underwriting process at which point it felt like we only received updates on the process if we reached out. There was a lot of confusion around the appraisal; getting scheduled, then rescheduled, then not showing as being completed on New American's end. At times it felt like the people supporting our process were a layer removed and couldn't provide much help.

It took almost 5 months to close a refinance. I was assured that even though my loan had to get extended past the 75-day lock (due to no fault of my own), I was assured that I wouldn’t have to pay any additional fees other than what was previously agreed upon. At closing, I had to pay an additional $1000 points (less some credit) due to the length of time to close this loan. It was also very difficult getting phone calls returned from those working on my loan to get questions answered or status.

Better communication. Was left in dark Until their end of each phase of loan. Didn’t know what was going on with the loan. Not Zack but others was rude on trying to explain certain parts of loan. I’m pleased with Zack he was great help over all but not pleased with the communication and too expensive for closing cost especially when a lot of companies are offering no closing cost
