When communicating via email it would be better to be as specific as possible when asking for specific items such as files in a specific format. If you feel after 3-4 emails it isn't working call the client and speak to them to tell them exactly what you need. Try not to blame clients of a delay when it was out of their control. Try assume to know how much their move and or expenditures are.

She was incredibly knowledgeable, and was able to help us close on our home! However, COVID-19 made communication more difficult. We had questions that were asked over email multiple times, so I had to seek out other forms of communication to get answers. Information given to us in the beginning was contradictory to what we had been told by her later in the process, leading to the questions mentioned above.

It would have been helpful to better understand the underwriting process and what would be required. Matthew was very helpful in providing information up-front so that I engaged NewAmerican for my refi, however, as the process moved forward there were numerous hurdles that came up due to being self-employed for which I wish he had better prepared me. Additional documentation that was requested as well as requests for documentation which I had already provided.

We feel that follow up in regards to everything could have been better. You need to take more time on the phone to make that person feel that they are your only client not trying to hurry to get to the next call. Responses were unbelievable as far as the loan processor went. If it would have not been for the low interest rate, we would have changed mortgage company's.

Not all Matthew's fault. I originally worked with someone else who left the company (probably fired) who lied to me, and then nobody picked up my loan and I had no contact info or anything.

It would have been nice to get more updates on my loan status. I was a bit upset when a day before closing I was contacted on missing documents and issues with verifying my employment when I already had a closing date. I would think that the mortgage company would have all their duck in a row before setting a closing date. I was on vacation having to take time away from my family to being on the phone with the insurance company a few days before closing because I needed to increase my coverage.
