The worst deal I have ever had as an agent. Things started off great in the beginning with John Torzala . He was not only great with communicating with me, he also keep out mutual client informed of everything and explained the process because she was a First time buyer. Somewhere along the lines, John left and we began receiving emails from Manuel and Byron. No one formally called me to explain the change nor was the client contacted by phone. 500 words are not enough to explain the horror!!

BEWARE!!! They prey on the elderly!! They screwed up paperwork and holding my elderly parents hostage by not disclosing information they claim they have or confirming if the house can be sold. They are refusing to cooperate in every way including refusing to return calls to them and attorney involved while still demanding payments.

I had the opportunity to work with Sam Ellsworth and his team. He will lie and lie right to your face. Spent 3 months trying to work with him and his team. They kept stringing me along. Went to Root Mortgage (a local lender) and closed the loan in 23 days start to finish including appraisal. Still was being lead along even after I had the mortgage I needed from another lender. Do NOT waisit your time.

Avoid Sam Ellsworth and his entire team. The reviews on Google do not reflect his poor efforts. He stopped responding to all phone calls and had his team deny our loan due to the birth of my child. After being in the home two years now, I am so happy I chose to go with a local lender! Don't make my same mistake. Took them 4 months to do nothing, local lender approved us in 3 weeks start to finish. Glad we didn't loose our dream home! NAF is unethical in many retrospects. Sam is a very poor leader.

WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. STARTING FROM NATE TO HIS ASSISTANT MARIA DIAZ I WAS CHECKING MY OPTIONS AROUND AND I ASKED THEM WHY GO THROUGH THEM THEY GAVE ME BASICALLY THE WORLD. I PROCEEDED WITH THE PROCESS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY STOP TALKING TO ME. ABOUT A WEEK LATER I GET A CALL THAT THE PERSON LEFT THE COMPANY AND SOMEONE ELSE WOULD BE TAKING OVER OK NO PROBLEM RIGHT. WELL THEY SAY SEND US ALL THESE DOCUMENTS SO WE CAN SEND THEM TO THE UNDERWRITER AND GET YOU AN OFFICIAL APPROVAL THAT IS BETTER THAN A PRE APPROVAL . WELL LIKE THE REST OF THE REVIEWS HERE I STOPPED HEARING FROM THEM I CALL AND THEY SAY SOMEONE WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH ME I GOT IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE THROUGH EMAIL AND SHE SAID SHE WOULD HAVE MY LOAN OFFICER REACH ME AND STILL NOTHING. MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THEY GOT ALL MY PAPERWORK TO STEAL MY IDENTITY. MY CREDIT IS EXCELLENT MY PAY IS GREAT AND MY FIANCE IS MY COSIGNER WHAT EXACTLY WENT WRONG AND WHERE WHAT DID THEY WANT US TO SEND EVERYTHING FOR TO JUST STOP TALKING TO US. I WISH I COULD GET THESE ANSWERS FROM THEM. LUCKILY I HAD RUN MY CREDIT WITH 3 OTHER MORTGAGES AND NOW AM DEALING WITH A BANK WHO KNOWS TOO MANY OF THESE HORROR STORIES. Dealt with Arnold. He belittled me because I had a deed in lieu of foreclosure 5 years prior. Told me he was sending my application application for manual underwriting, and that he'd call me tomorrow. I never heard from him again... guess what Arnold? Things are now much better for us, and guess who wont be getting our business?

I applied to New American Funding about three months ago and have heard back from them about 4 times with excuse after excuse about why they haven't accomplished anything with my application. When I applied online I was not assigned to any local office. I live in Florida but was contacted by someone in California, Jason Baumhover. This company claims to do what traditional banks won't regarding mortgages as per this statement online at nerd wallet: "New American Funding offers FHA and VA loans, works with down payment assistance programs, and seeks borrowers whose credit histories don't fit the mold of traditional banking..." I can tell you that after informing him that I was a self employed contractor he carefully accused me of providing him with a falsified employment letter for my application. After a few weeks I tracked him down to see where I stood in the application process and he told me that his "team" (which I believe is just him and a laptop computer) was working on it. A few weeks later I spoke to him again and he told me that he couldn't get in touch with my new employer. It appears that his "team" doesn't have international calling on their phone lines and could not call my employer, so they had to e-mail him. A few weeks later I contacted him again and he emailed me back saying that his wife was pregnant in the hospital and he wasn't in his office for a couple of weeks, ARE YOU SERIOUS? That is not a valid excuse to not follow through with an application, if you're a serious business you should have a backup plan. So nothing has ever come of this application and I don't expect anything to come of it, except that ever since I put in that application it seems as though my personal information has been compromised as someone else has also mentioned in these reviews prior to me. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I am looking into filing a formal complaint against them.
