I would have liked to know about all the fees that go along with home buying at the start of the process. Maybe go over the Closing Costs document before we even start the process. Numbers could be made up. People who buy a home for the first time may not know about the fees for title transfer etc. If I had a huge amount of money to work with I would not care but that was not the case for me. If lenders are too busy to explain the process and fees at the start, maybe there should be a video that is send at the beginning that one could learn from. I also did not know that there is an escrow officers who is not related to the bank I'm borrows from and what their role is. Escrow officer send me many forms and I signed them but they were lengthy and written in a language that is hard to understand. I signed them because I was asked to and usually I had a vague idea of what the forms said. Wendy was available to explain the forms to me and to answer my questions and she did so very well. I wish that I did was not the one who needed to reach out. I believe that the lender should get on the phone and explain what they are asking a customer to sign. However, overall the programs that the lender used were easy enough to use. People who work for the bank are responsive and clear. I felt like the lender was honest with me and acted in my best interest. I would still be likely to recommend a friend to the company but I would like for the company to take my advise into account. Thank you!
