Awful experience, the way these people operate, once they get all your information and run your credit, you will not hear from them again. I have tried to reach out to them several times and they would not transfer stating the loan officer is busy in another call. This company is a fraud, don’t let them still your identity and personal information.

I applied to New American Funding about three months ago and have heard back from them about 4 times with excuse after excuse about why they haven't accomplished anything with my application. When I applied online I was not assigned to any local office. I live in Florida but was contacted by someone in California, Jason Baumhover. This company claims to do what traditional banks won't regarding mortgages as per this statement online at nerd wallet: "New American Funding offers FHA and VA loans, works with down payment assistance programs, and seeks borrowers whose credit histories don't fit the mold of traditional banking..." I can tell you that after informing him that I was a self employed contractor he carefully accused me of providing him with a falsified employment letter for my application. After a few weeks I tracked him down to see where I stood in the application process and he told me that his "team" (which I believe is just him and a laptop computer) was working on it. A few weeks later I spoke to him again and he told me that he couldn't get in touch with my new employer. It appears that his "team" doesn't have international calling on their phone lines and could not call my employer, so they had to e-mail him. A few weeks later I contacted him again and he emailed me back saying that his wife was pregnant in the hospital and he wasn't in his office for a couple of weeks, ARE YOU SERIOUS? That is not a valid excuse to not follow through with an application, if you're a serious business you should have a backup plan. So nothing has ever come of this application and I don't expect anything to come of it, except that ever since I put in that application it seems as though my personal information has been compromised as someone else has also mentioned in these reviews prior to me. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I am looking into filing a formal complaint against them.

Dealt with Arnold. He belittled me because I had a deed in lieu of foreclosure 5 years prior. Told me he was sending my application application for manual underwriting, and that he'd call me tomorrow. I never heard from him again... guess what Arnold? Things are now much better for us, and guess who wont be getting our business?

BEWARE!!! They prey on the elderly!! They screwed up paperwork and holding my elderly parents hostage by not disclosing information they claim they have or confirming if the house can be sold. They are refusing to cooperate in every way including refusing to return calls to them and attorney involved while still demanding payments.

This company might be great with getting you the loan you need but once the dust has settled and you need them to help with a homeowner's insurance claim, they send you in circles. We recently had over 30k in water damage and had our insurance issue a check almost immediately. Nationwide is great! Aside from that NAF is now required to endorse the check and wont. They dont have a department with a working phone number for this matter. They have lied about steps to take. They are holding our check hostage and not giving instructions on how to move forward. Unless you plan on never having an occurence in which you will need to use your home owners insurance, I would recommend you do not pick the company to borrow from.

I've purchased 5 homes in my lifetime prior to my latest home. New American Funding and lender Stacy Holland in Navarre, Florida made this my worst home buying experience ever. I had deal with poor communications, late to need on documents, little margin provided to meet required closing date, unprofessionally rude to my wife, and failed promise on initial interest rate. I will never use this lender again and will warn all of my friends, family and associates to not use them.

I got a bad taste in my mouth when I asked Zack to explain the details of my loan so that I can better explain it to my husband. Zach had an indignant in his voice that I would ask and explain it and acted as if I should not dare to ask him about the loan and then I should just trust him questioning nothing. I recommend customer training. He was rude and never returned a phone call immediately I had to wait days or call his supervisor.

The staff is very friendly, but we never received return calls or answers to our questions. We left multiple voicemails. The staff was quick to tell us by email if we were holding things up though, usually because an email went to spam. This was our first time refinancing and we did not receive the help we needed. Had we not been so far in the process we would have gone elsewhere and will most likely use a different company in the future.
