Robert and I started on a good note, but very soon he starting going back on his promises. First he went back on his promise to match competitive rates (which he promised). Then he broke few others along the way to closing, things were going bad, so I didn't want to close. But he along with one on his business associate literally begged and split difference with me and promise $1750 to cover their share. Once loan is closed, he went back on his words and his tone also changed... Dishonest Man

Better communication between the lender and builder. Karen only called me once rest of the communication was via email. We had to constantly be on top of her. Her assistant was the only one who made me feel like someone cared and responded right away. This is mine and my sisters first home and feel like we got an explanation or anything from Karen regarding our loan only to tell us to sign.

Being totally honest and trustworthy from the beginning to the end. I felt and still feel we were treated like incompetent fools and made to feel like we were the guilty parties. I do understand our unprecedented times we’re living in may have added to this experience but it has been by far the most stressful time in my life which I will never forget.

Unprofessional. Does not return calls, emails or text messages. There are other issues about promises.

New american funding , my experience was not good. I always had to reach out to your agents. They were never available for me to chat. It was only phone conversation. They said, their were always busy. However, expected me to be absolve at last minute to submit papers and run. They were not mindful or appreciative of my time.

Refused to give us a complete list of things we needed to submit in order to get a pre-approval letter. Kept being told we need more and more.
Review by Christopher Samoranski for Sarah Smith

We agreed to Cash offer program with Sarah who subsequently decided to go another way without discussion or notification until a couple of days before we were to originally close. She then informed us that we’d have to finance the entire purchase amount unless we could come up with $100k cash and that it would cost us an additional almost $700/month for the loan duration. She then offered a ‘recast’ program to recast the loan back to the original term if I paid $100k toward principle upon closing of the house being sold. But wait, government loans such as FHA and VA are not allowed to be recast so we’d have to enjoy at least seven months of the increased loan amount and then we could refinance the loan if it was to be financially beneficial to us at the time. During all of this over the course of several rough days and some difficult, straightforward conversations, Sarah never took ownership and accountability but only tried to say that these are difficult and emotional times, even after I apologized for being deservedly straightforward in our conversations and raising my voice which I almost never do and felt bad about. When I chose to discuss all of this with her manager and ask that Sarah be removed, the manager chose instead to play an interfacing role, dealing with me, while allowing Sarah to continue being involved and earning her commission. Dealing with the manager was pleasant and informative, when we were able to communicate, and being a leader myself, I would not presume to tell another leader how to handle her team and thus, followed her lead even though I was not in agreement. I believe NAF has some very good programs and am interested to see how the company does going forward. However, based on the lack of knowledge, sharing of information that does not apply, and allowing Sr.Loan Consultants to take action without client discussion, I will not be recommending NAF.
