New American Funding Reviews

New American Funding’s corporate team mishandled my file in a way that deserves full legal and public attention. After submitting verified information, my emails were blocked—immediately following a legal preservation notice. A representative then made false statements to federal regulators, while I have a voicemail from the same rep confirming my identity and employment. No adverse action letter. No accountability. Just obstruction and denial. A federal lawsuit has been filed. The evidence is preserved. I’m committed to transparency and accountability—and I encourage any other customer experiencing issues to document everything. Too many people have been silenced. Not this time.

“What this company did to my family during a mortgage process was not just negligent—it was deceptive, obstructive, and deeply damaging. Their internal representatives were given multiple opportunities to resolve the matter privately, but instead chose avoidance, denial, and misrepresentation. I’ve preserved everything—emails, calls, voicemails, and regulatory communications. I’ve taken the necessary steps through the appropriate channels, and I’m fully prepared to escalate as needed. This isn’t just about one file. It’s about a pattern. A culture. And accountability that has been dodged for far too long. If you’ve experienced anything similar, document everything. Protect yourself. Because when the truth finally speaks, it won’t just be loud—it will be undeniable.”

I am disgusted by the way New American Funding operates. I honestly can not believe they are in business. I was pre approved back in November. Gave them all the paperwork and information needed while continuing to look for a house. I was able to find out at the end of Jan with a closing date set for Feb 24. I was told everything went through and all I needed was to wire the down payment. The closing date had to be extended to March 24th due to repair issues and getting the money transferred. I originally had Joseph Longo as my loan officer, who monitored my whole progress. He called me 2 weeks before close and said he got promoted so he no longer has my loan and it is being transferred. I get a call Feb 19th (1 week later) saying I am sitting with no approval. 3 DAYS BEFORE CLOSING. I am having a meltdown because how unprofessional to let me know I can not even close that close to closing. I spoke to his boss, Jason Miller, who is just as incompetent and was unable to close it. The sellers upped the price on me since I had to request an extension. I had to quick find another lender to push my loan through in days due to the incompetence of New American Funding. NAF cost me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. Never even got an apology, no sympathy at all. They are unprofessional and caused me so much stress on top of it. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Thankfully I was able to still close on my house and move. I am currently trying to take legal action for what they did to me.

The worst experience I've ever had. Janice Bae the mortgage agent never returned my phone calls, text messages or emails. So I gave up and got Shevell Anderson who sent me the wrong link for figure lending at which time I gave permission to figure lending to access my banking account. So I did what she told me only to find out that she said sent the wrong link and told me to call figure lending and cancel the application which I did. So they canceled it and because I had applied to the wrong link that Shevell sent me American funding declined the HELOC because there were too many inquiries on my credit.

From the start, there was a lack of clear communication as I was passed from one person to another. As a first-time homebuyer, I found the process with NAF especially stressful, especially due to an unpleasant and unprofessional phone conversation I had with Samantha. I felt pressured and subjected to scare tactics, which only added to the anxiety of an already complex process. Rather than trying to offer the best deal, NAF simply matched what another lender was offering—they never made an effort to exceed it. The situation worsened when we were pushed to order a second appraisal after the first came in low. Days later, I was told that the second appraisal had no change, only to receive an email days later from my new lender stating that it actually did come in higher. This inconsistency made me feel misled and further eroded my trust in NAF. In the future, I strongly suggest that NAF focus on being more transparent, honest, and professional—especially when working with first-time buyers who rely on guidance and clear communication.

The worst experience. Such a disappointment. Too much confusion. EVERYDAY there was a new requirement, every week, there were request for things previously submitted. Too many people communicating and interacting with me, but not cross-referencing with one another. Everyday something new changed. Refinancing has NEVER been so disheartening in my 20+years of owning a home. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. EVER! This went on for months and months.

Alot of these must be bought reviews because I've had the worst experience with this place then any other. A guy named Sam alhumdi was supposed to be helping me get a loan and there has been little to no communication and now it's been several weeks and he has apparently stopped replying to my messages, at this point I will look elsewhere!
