My Experience with New American Funding I bring over 25 years in the mortgage industry, including nearly a decade as an independent, self-generated banker and time spent ranking in the top 1% of two major call centers. I understand how to properly value and work leads — both purchased and self-sourced. With that background, I expected New American Funding to provide a professional environment built around solid lending practices. What I found instead was disappointing. Regardless of your tenure or track record, the company requires weekly sales training sessions, often conducted by individuals with significantly less experience. These sessions do little to sharpen true sales skills; instead, they encourage techniques designed to distract borrowers from fully examining the costs of their loan. The deeper issue is structural: New American Funding’s pricing model is uncompetitive to the point that nearly every loan exceeds Qualified Mortgage ATR standards. Rather than focusing on delivering value to well-qualified borrowers, the company maximizes profit margins on each transaction. This results in a business model that effectively targets subprime borrowers or those unlikely to scrutinize the total cost of financing. Sales meetings reinforce this culture. The primary advice isn’t about relationship-building or long-term client value — it’s about sidestepping transparency. The irony is striking: they train you to “become a better salesperson,” while in practice, they are simply teaching you how to obscure the true costs from customers. At the Las Vegas call center, leadership further erodes credibility. The operation is overseen by Josh, whose management style is casual at best — with three-hour Friday lunches that leave little confidence in accountability. The environment feels less like a serious financial institution and more like a boiler-room call center, where customer service is treated as an afterthought. Finally, employee treatment is another area of concern. The culture reflects a lack of respect for professionals, regardless of their proven experience. In my view, this makes New American Funding not only predatory toward its customers but dismissive and exploitative toward its employees as well.

At this point, nothing! Her overall behavior, attitude, tone, lack of knowledge & care was above and beyond! I will probably never again work with her or another NAF lender after working with her!

Communication and staying on time. He ran behind, he didn't send out the FHA paperwork until days before closing.

The reverie is for New America Funding. First of all, there is absolutely NO reason that my loan process should have taken 8 weeks!!! Secondly, they fired the salesman that I was working with when the loan processor, *andy, is the one that caused our problems! Third, the sales manager, An****, called us to let us know that they fired the salesman & he made promises to us but wouldn't return our calls after that. Fourth, they quoted me an interest rate but since it took SO LONG to finish, the agreed interest rate increased. The loan processor asked for the most ridiculous things to verify EVERYTHING & sometimes she asked for the same things 3 different times! At the end, I had to beg her to send it in to the underwriter so we could close the loan. I had the worst experience I've ever had dealing with loan processes & I've been getting loans for over 30 years. I would NEVER recommend them for anything & will NEVER be using them again, if I can help it.

Blake did not have great communication throughout this process. My client had received his CD and was suppose to get back $200 at closing only to have to have over $6,800. When we got to closing he had to pay an additional $55. The closing date was changed 4 times. The team was very last minute. They were not being transparent about the process. They kept changing the rules and regulations regarding the grant he was promised. The entire process was unpleasant and unprofessional.

I had a very disappointing experience with New American Funding. My loan officer, Cynthia Achermann, was great to work with, but once the rate was locked everything went downhill. My processor, Cindy Lamm, was extremely unresponsive—usually only sending one email per day, often at midnight. The underwriter, Tim, also didn’t seem to have a clear handle on the process. I constantly felt like I was the one doing all the work figuring out the issues, which should never be the case when you’re paying almost 3 points for their service. At one point, I was even told that I had to reach out to the city myself to resolve an easement issue in order to close my loan. They locked my rate in mid-June, but by August 11 I ended up walking away because they wanted me to pay to extend my rate. I switched to Lendplicity and was able to close my refinance in just two weeks—something New American Funding couldn’t manage in nearly two months.

New American Funding is a useless entity. They mailed me my escrow refund on July 29th and they claim that it was returned to them. That's a lie because I have two different addresses and male always shows up. It is never returned. So I want my escrow refund immediately with no Expedition fees. My name is Keith savall and my address is 9519 West Seven Mile Road 9 Mile Falls Washington 99026. I've given you a one-star review and explained why on every place on the internet that I possibly can. And I will also file a complaint with the cfpb.

Absolutely worst experience. I can NEVER get ahold of my lender. I called, leave a voicemail, text him, and email him on BOTH of his emails. He won't EVER respond. I have to call him again days later (still no answer), get my realtor to call, get the liason to call, etc. oh, still no answer for hours or days. Any lender, and I mean ANY LENDER would be better. negative stars.
