Jerry Ruiz was over extended. He would state one thing in emails and phone conversation, then would not recall what he stated. I felt very uncomfortable with the way the agent handled my personal information at times he would state that he didn't know where documents were emailed to him at the time they were needed. The documents that were sent were not carefully reviewed. The last email that he sent stated they needed to confirm I'm still alive, which is not acceptable to a cancer survivor.

Pushing off the funding date by 10 days would have saved me thousands of dollars in costs for purchasing the property. Because New American refused to postpone the funding date I have no money for fixing up a rundown property. It's a gift that keeps on giving, costing me money year after year.

I hesitated to leave this review, but I feel it is in the consumers' interest to know these things. Chances are, if you are trying to borrow FHA, your situation is complicated and you need a very sophisticated mortgage broker. Perhaps. Mr. Pasillas does well with run-of-the-mill FHAs, but his oversight and poor judgment and inability to be discerning cost me 700 in pre-closing fees. He did not know that one cannot get an FHA without satisfying a judgment. Enough said.

Better communication, call backs and return phone calls were not very good. Kristen did and exceptional job it was a pleasure working with her, she was very timely and responsive.

Communication was extremely difficult. Never once did I get a phone call returned. Emails were answered but there was no urgency. The appraiser used for this buyer, was way off with the appraisal value, especially given the extremely low supply of inventory. The loan team was overall unhelpful. The closing date was missed. Just not the way I do business.
