The communication was one the worst I've ever experienced. Most of the time when we communicated it was because of me reaching out to see about the status of the loan. Sometimes didn't call or emailed back when trying to communicate. It felt like I was being ignored. It took almost 4 months to get the refi done. Dealt with several people in the process. It only was 45 days to buy our home 4 years ago. The refi was almost three times longer than that to get the refi done. It was not personal, just very frustrating. This was an unbelievable process for us all. I'am glad it's finally done and happy with our decision initially. NAF is a good company overall.

If everyone was doing their job and communicating with each other it would have been great

I would like to say it wasn’t Matt, however he was not very responsive and the person he worked with, James Mckibbon, was devastating to the results of Matt. James is evasive, non-committal, a terrible communicator and leaves a lot to be desired in his interaction with customers.

I was working with my mother to help her a loan. New American Funding is one of the lenders we applied with. My mother was going through the county for additional DPA funds and I've just received an email back stating that they can't complete third party documents when all that was requested was that they submit the completed loan app to the program. I sent the same exact email with info to the other lender we were working with and they said no problem. I'm annoyed more than anything that I wasted valuable time gathering and submitting documents just to get nowhere.

On the day of close, there was an error on the appraisal and I felt that everyone involved on the lender’s side, did not have my best interest in mind and solely wanted the loan to close. The processor and loan consultant insisted the appraisal was correct even though they had no idea if it was in fact accurate. Come to find out, the appraisal was inaccurate and had I listened to them and closed the loan I would have overpaid $25,000. What would have made it better would be knowing I am in good hands. On the day of closing, the manager Melissa Pearce, would not take my phone call and insisted that I email. I understand I needed to show a paper trail and proof of funds, but had she been timely and called me as I requested I would have been able to get the appropriate documentation. This delay caused the loan to close a day later after the date we needed to close by. A much better way to handle it would have been to call your customer as requested, especially on the day of closing if there if a hiccup.

Communication was terrible no follow through. Last minute issues. Tried having us pay our earnest money again at closing.

The communication was awful, had to call several times to figure out what was going on. At the beginning ill admit he seemed pleasant. He had asked me if i could do some side work for him in which he never paid me for. Proceeded to not respond and run out the time on my appraisal. Still haven’t heard back from him in regards to anything! If you want to refinance, id choose anyone else besides him.

Information that was given on 7/3/21 to do the 1st proposal on the 1st house we put an offer on was the same information on the house that we were set to purchase and put earnest money on. We were to pay for the Appraisal and the link was sent to me after it expired so could not pay was added to closing. Appraisal was not done on house until 5th business day before closing. Closing was set up for 8/26 on 7/26. Was told everything was set and closing docs were sent to us the week before closing. Monday 4th business day before closing we were ask for proof of income and was told to make a cash client deposit ($6500) and send proof of who gave me the money, I do taxes and this can not be disclosed to anyone. I offered for them to come to my home office and I could show them files but they could not record any of this information. I could be sanction for even doing this as I can't even discuss this with my husband per the rules we have to file. Tuesday(24th) was told to get letter from bank on my business credit line, which I had to call in a flavor from a current Wells Fargo Business dept. to get me in to have a letter from them that I had this credit line and had credit of over $33,000, got on the 25th. Found out since it was not secured line to asset not good. This information was given back on 7/3/2021. I have had this credit line for over 30 years, used for my 1st computer and printer of $10,000. Was told to do deposit on Weds day before and should be good to close. Get cashier check for $18,333.19 from bank for closing, which I did. We were doing walk thru and was told they needed a gift letter for $6500 and a check for that amount. Which we are all confused why less than 24 hours before we are told we can't close because we needed this. Where to get this amount we went to Florence and asked if she would do this for us. She did and filled out form on the 26th and deposited check, and sent proof check was deposited in my account on the 26th. Than all of sudden they needed proof of her having money to do this in her bank account. She is 82 years old and does not leave her home or get around well and does not do online banking. All of sudden we were told we needed this proof that the check cleared bank, so she requested the bank to mail copy of cleared check to her on Monday 30th. Closing people kept wanting to push her to have her go to the bank, she does not drive or ever had a drivers license in her life. All they cared about is to get proof that her check cleared, she does not ride in an vehicle except the Ambulance. They wanted a previous bank statement to show she had the money in the account, I would not do this as it is none of their business what she has in her bank account. She was uncomfortable giving her bank account information when we filled out gift letter paperwork. She called the bank to see where the check copy was after a few days and they told her it was coming from the main credit union in Texas. Was told this was all they needed and it was not coming in the mail. They asked for access to my husband bank account which I don't understand why they needed to get into his account and have all his bank history go to them to versify money. No communication this except an email that they needed this now!!! She called them and asked if they could fax this copy to my fax number on 9/7 and they could, than they needed this by noon in their office and we could close same day on the 7th. I left my client early to get this to them by noon for us to close by the end of the date as this 3rd extension of closing as the Seller was not extending again and we would lose $5000 earnest money. Of course this could not be done for whatever reason, wanted a copy of cashiers check I have had since 8/25 which it did, was put off to the Sept 8 at 11. Was told everything was ready, we sat for an hour waiting for them to complete and finally signed so done with your company and how you treated us.
