New American Funding Reviews

The communication was very poorly. I had to leave numerous voicemail messages, text messages and emails. Pretty much we left hanging in the air. One loan processor didn't knew from the other loan processor were we were standing in regards to the processing of the loan. We had to extend closing twice and even on the day of the closing the settlement statement had to be corrected several times.

Preliminary closing disclosure logic varied from the logic on the final closing disclosure, most specifically, the aggregate adjustment for the initial escrow payment at closing. Furthermore, Denice Herrera asked me to substitute the $500.00 appraisal fee for $475.00 and initial. However, the final closing disclosure showed $500.00 (procedural inconsistency). Also, closing disclosure showed an appraisal re-inspection of $100.00 and no invoice was provided as back up for the charge.

Lack of communication between officers, processors and underwriting. Continually asking for HOA information that was sent multiple times to multiple people. It became very frustrating for the buyer and Hoa.

Communication was sparse. Paperwork was incorrect.

This experience was generally made much more stressful, frustrating, and unpleasant than it needed to be. This reflects on New American as a whole more than on Rick specifically. Rick promised much more than he and New American could deliver, advising unrealistic closing deadlines and making repeated attempts to push back the closing date despite contractually promising otherwise. We nearly lost the condo that we purchased due to New American continually failing to meet contractual deadlines.

Nathan repeatable assured us as we got closer to closing that everything was on track and the we would be able to close on time. But once closing day arrived it became clear that things were not ready, and we spend several hours on closing day scrambling to produce additional documentation that should have been request weeks prior. Ultimately closing was delayed 4 days from the planned day, which cause a lot of difficulty for both us and sellers due to rescheduled travel and financial loss.
