Review by Marcialito Munsayac for Jullian Moss

We were caught off guard with a surprise credit item that had to be paid off before closing. This should have been brought up to use WEEKS AGO before the close of escrow and not the day before. We had to make leaps and bounds to get the funds to close the deal. Nevertheless, very sloppy underwriting process from the beginning with a lack of transparency. Should have given us some kind of discount or credit for the frustration and monumental stress you left us with during the closing process. I will never recommend your company to anyone.

There was almost zero communication and there was no transparency. I’m not sure if it was an issue with American funding rep or the lending company, but I honestly felt like I was having to repeat myself over and over again. Even the loan signing was full of confusion and lacked transparency.

1. Dishonesty 2. We applied for HELOC but was given Home Equity Loan - a big Gap in communication and understanding customer needs 3. Loan took more than 40days end to end. 4. No communication regarding loan disbursement, loan account, payments. I don’t even know where to pay and what is my loan account

Somewhere in the processing of our loan, Kimberly seemed to lose her interest in helping us close on our deal. Clear communications plummeted and we almost lost our home over issues that she could have resolved long before the closing date.

They forced close on the end of the month so that I would have my first payment sooner. She was dishonest about the rate lock, poor communication, they did not balance my loan disclosure properly making an already stressful day (closing) horrible. I will never purchase another home with new American and I’m refinancing the second rates drop.

Lack of response to some emails/inquiries. Questions in some emails not responded to. Received some inaccurate information. Documents uploaded lost. Had to resend several documents. Had several documents requested and sent that were never actually needed or used. Fees higher than many competitors. My fees very high for the amount of the loan.

Review by Christina Seideman for Damien King

Completed transaction on June 30, 2022

Damien was largely inaccessible and non-communicative for days at a time (both phone and email). Each time he would check on something, it took days to get information about what next steps were needed. He also continually said he would reach out, touch base, or finalize something by a deadline--that he then repeatedly failed to meet. My closing took so long and had to be rescheduled so many times that my seller almost backed out entirely. Very disappointing, and would NOT recommend.

Review by Dawn Surface for Melanie Nguyen

Completed transaction on June 27, 2022

Melanie's communication is very condescending. I read everything and ask questions for clarification. Rather than talking to me, she would forward an email I already received or a screenshot of a document I already signed. Those actions left me feeling like she thought I was stupid. I'm far from it, that's why I ask questions. I told her she spoke really fast and at times was hard to understand. She acknowledged that she spoke fast and told me to tell her if I needed her to slow down. I believe that if she knows she speaks fast then she should make the effort to slow down, not wait to be asked. Fast speech can have people feeling like something is being hidden. I brought up that I paid $650 for the appraisal. I paid for it, therefore I am the customer. I read the appraisal and it said the cost was $500. I asked about the other $150. She sent the screenshot of my agreement without any explanation. She said she would talk to her manager about it. To this day I have not heard anything. That $150 went somewhere. I felt like a job to her, not a customer. New American Loans will be making a lot off of my loan with them. I should be treated like a customer, not a job. At this point, I will not be referring anyone.
