Communication was terrible. Crystal never replied to multiple calls and emails. I was told: "She doesn't deal with Realtors."

Everyone on the buyers side including the listing agent felt like New American Funding dropped the ball. Causing a lot of undue distress on eveyone involved. It not all Nick's fault but he was the main point of contact and he is the one sending the survey!

Bien did very little to help, communicate or even understand the situation we were in. We had minimal contact during the process (it was started by Matt Sandgren and he was EXCELLENT). Bien "took it over" from him at one point because of Matt's promotion, but Bien largely phoned it in for the during. The only saving grace was Chantall and Peyton, who were OUTSTANDING in their communication and handling of all the details. Bien was completely out of the loop (when he called me one time, there was a long chain of emails between me, Peyton and Chantall and from Bien's response, I could tell he had not read a single one of them and asked me redundant questions that had long been resolved by those two highly competent ladies behind the scenes. Very disappointing to work with Bien.

During the initial conversations with Joseph regarding my interest in a home equity loan, he was communicative and accessible. He requested we push the loan application forward on or about Decmeber 26th. We went ahead and ran the hard credit check and initiated the process. He advised that the appraisal would need to be scheduled but I told him we would be out of town the following week (Dec 29 - Jan 4) and I was reluctant to spend extra on the appraisal prior to the trip. He suggested I charge it to a credit card and I told him I would follow up with him over the weekend after he told me he would be available over the weekend. I decided to wait to pay for the appraisal until my return home. On January 2nd I received the following text message from Joseph, "No documentation was received. This will be cancelled by the end of business day. Give me a call with an update. 949-445-8329" This message was not well received and I felt the tone was unacceptable considering I had advised Joseph the week prior that I was going to be out of town during that time. Later in the process, after the appraisal, I was advised that the pool at our home needed to be filled with water or covered due to it being empty. I specifically asked Joseph what was required for the cover in the pool. I did bot received a response until the following week but immediately addressed the issue on saturday by covering the pool with a large wooden platform. I was advised the following week that the cover was not acceptable according to the underwriters. I spent approximately $500 on materials and was frustrated by Joseph's lack of communication and delayed response to my email, moreso because of the pressure and urgency he put on me when he messaged me on January 2nd. The delay in communication was frustrating and caused me to waste time and money that wasn't necessary. Overall, Joseph could have been more tactful in the way he chose to communicate and shown more patience regarding beginning the process instead of what I felt was pressure in order to "close the sale" and move the application forward. He could have also been more proactive about communicating with me when the appraisal issue arose by giving me a call directly instead of relying on just an email, which was a stark contrast from the direct communication he provided when telling me the application was going to be cancelled in January 2nd.
