Only spoke to him once and he never replied to an email. I come to expect bad service from New American it's part of the customer experience. We did have a good experience with his assistant but disappointed he could never reply or never got involved other then selling. New American differentiator....sell...make money...sell...make money...customer, who is that?

New American Finance does not honor their locked in rates and used a bait and switch tactic for my refinance. I worked with Josh Kianipey. I finished at 9pm on Friday and went through a recorded lock-in script to lock-in the rate (for 75 days). Done – great. On Monday afternoon I was contacted by Josh and told that he did not process the loan locked in rate was no longer available. I spoke to customer service and was told NAF would not honor the locked in rate. Bait and switch.

The underwriting process was the worst experience I have ever had in obtaining a loan. Documents were largely requested one or two at a time rather than just figuring out everything that was needed. This significantly slowed down the process. It took nearly 6 months to close a refinance.

We decided to go with Steve for a home purchase with a 45 day close and it was one of the worst/most stressful experiences my wife and I ever had. Horrible at communicating. Would tell us what we wanted to hear but then not come through. He even asked me where people in the area are going to get their loan finalized because he couldn’t get it done. Steve would wait until 5 on a Friday to send a bad news email and then not hear from him until Monday or Tuesday the following week. Go elsewhere!
