1 - Communication about the closing of the loan wasn't provided. As such, the original closing date was missed and it was rescheduled to a later time. 2 - The amounts to be used for the payoffs were inaccurate at the time of closing. 3 - At the time of closing, attempts to contact the Loan Officer were unsuccessful 4 - The software to be used on a web browser for electronically signing certain documents did not function.

Closing costs were changed right before closing so I either had to accept them to close or start over.

Good communication on the front end. We were asked for irrelevant documents but I believe this was the underwriters fault. Once this was eventually solved we had 3 different closing appointments that were scheduled but each fell through because either the documents didn't match our disclosures or the contract was not sent to the title company and attorney in time. Again, underwriters fault. Only complaint with Ethan was at this point it was difficult to get hold of for clarification.

There were too many surprises at the end of the process. This is not unique to Fairway, but is still something that irritates me about any business that issues mortgages every day. You should have this down to a SCIENCE. Know what questions to ask up front and by the end of that conversation you should have a complete list of all documentation that will be needed as well as a full list of all expenses (perhaps not the exact amount of the expenses). Asking for more later implies inexperience.

Indy, himself was quick in response. However, there were no active updates from loan officer/team on what is going on. Just a feedback - it would be better if there are proactive updates from the loan officer/team instead of reactive update after the customer is requesting. :)

Better as timely communication would have made the whole experience much better

Had to re-check every step as multiple options were not provided. Felt like dealing with money making machine pushing for their product, but after looking in depth MYSELF and exploring it was clear that there are multiple additional factors in mortgage application (we were getting a higher rate; clear errors in tax deductions in the future loan with limit to $750,000 was not disclosed; points system was not explained, it was very hard to get official additional loan estimates or scenarios, etc)
