The loan officers are great but when you start the loan process the communication ceases. The underwriters are absent throughout the whole process and never respond to questions from you, but when they need something it is extremely urgent and they make you feel like it is your fault that the loan process is taking a long time. This company needs better communication throughout the entire loan process. My loan took over 65 days to complete and I have everything ready day 1. MY response time was within an hour when they wanted a document or something else, but they never responded when i had questions about the process or i emailed them directly. Honestly I felt like i was just waiting for 60 days and heard nothing but then all of sudden they needed everything from me and i had to rush because they didn't want to extend my loan process but it was entirely their fault.

Rates were very good. The initial communication was also good. I really like our loan agent, Alayna. She was quite helpful. When the loan left her hands and went to the processors communication really fell off. We had trouble getting a date to sign the papers. We did sign the papers more than two weeks ago and I have not been able to get any information on the status of our loan. Our old bank has already charged us a late fee. I still don't know what the outcome will be, so I am being optimistic in giving them 3 stars.

Employee accountability could be better. We very nearly didn't get our mortgage because our 1st loan officer was giving false information and he got fired. The 2nd loan officer we got was much better with communication and honesty. It was extremely stressful but thankfully it worked out in the end

The loan officer I worked with was fantastic. The underwriter for my case however had no regard for my time, my privacy, or my needs. I was just another risk assessment in line and my life was put on hold for nearly a week trying to accommodate these people and get them the new documents they requested each day. It felt like I was working 9-5 right with them trying to get everything they needed in. It got to be so invasive of a process when it came to my personal life, job, and family relationships that I had to send in relationship disclosures and proof that my grandfather is my grandfather. It was just wild. My friends who have bought houses told me they didn’t have to go through so much and one had worse credit than I do and he was still able to obtain a loan with half the hassle, had I known where he got his loan through I would have went there instead of New American Funding. If you’re looking to close on a deal quickly, I wouldn’t recommend. The website claims they’ll close within 14 business days. I had to extend my already 1 month closing time by a week so that they could finish my loan process. No seller credit was provided. Just overall I’m relieved the process is over and my loan is funded but I wouldn’t recommend this company to anybody trying to obtain a FHA quickly.

I think that knowledge is key to any endeavor to make wise decisions. New American, although worked hard, perhaps would need to understand the requirements of a VA Home Loan better with training sessions suggestively. This way, the borrower can be better prepared and that the campaigns would move more evenly. Still, if it were not for my loan officer and the heart that he has, I know my experience would have been much harder. I thank God for Adam B.

Amy was great! That drive by appraisal was trash. I got angrier after reading the report. This is a lakeside property. The 1st appraisal did not state that. I would have been happier if you guys would said we're sending someone and that will cost you 500 dollars, instead of making me feel like I was getting something for free. I'm still angry about it, even though things worked out. The 2nd guy actually did comps versus other local lakefront properties.

I never worked with Tustin Ca. However I worked with Mike Hicks who represents their company in exceptional ways. For six months, he worked patiently and diligently with me and then my family to get a successful result for us financially and personally. I can not recommend him any more highly and rest assured he will do a great job for you and your family also.

Very good customer service but my experience was very stressful and took a long time to acquire a cash out loan on my manufactured home. They did not advise upfront of all the details would be involved. I would recommend them for their legal thoroughness and availability of my loan representatives. However, their loan officers need to be informed of the many nontraditional processes and requirements for mobile/manufactured home loans, such as HUD and FHA foundation compliancy and title issues. Clients need to know these and other steps upfront to facilitate a more timely and less stressful experience during the loan process.
