I started this process in July and closed just at the end of December. I’m definitely responsible for some of that delay. But not all. Also I feel a lower rate should have been available during that timeframe. I asked Steve about lowering the rate and he said it was possible one time. He never mentioned it again. When we finally closed I was getting offers for a full half point lower

I thought Melissa did a good job of making us aware of what we needed to know to get through the mortgage process. My main concern was that small issues were sometimes presented as much larger ones that posed immediate threats to our ability to get the mortgage. Also, one major issue (inability to get a jumbo loan) was reported later in the process than I would have liked.

Dave got us the numbers we needed as far as interest rate and closing cost, there were no issues there and by most accounts, he exceeded expectations on that front. However, the closing process was frustrating and caused huge issues for my family. We were not contacted for weeks for final closing documents that we could have provided weeks prior, instead we were contacted 'in the midnight hour' of getting a clear to close. As a result, we closed a day late and endured unnecessary stress.

Communication started out strong, but then there were issues around the initial loan. I didn't know each option required a sellers assist. I received documents to sign without any prior information on what I was signing. If I reached out I always got a response in a timely manner but I felt like I was driving the communication and I felt it should have been the other way around. I had to resend documents multiple times. And the issue at closing felt like it could have been avoided. Was stressful
