Sergio was ok in the beginning but when we got closer to closing he wouldn’t respond to calls or emails. Sergio wasn’t honest about lender credit.

We were materially misled on two key fronts. First, we were advised that underwriting would take 2 weeks with a 3-day buffer. It required over 2 weeks beyond the buffer to close, with daily ad hoc requests made by New American with no willingness to even estimate a revised closing date. The Seller even threatened legal action given the ongoing extensions. Second, were told in writing that we'd owe New American $500 for no points at closing. We were then charged $1,690 with no explanation.

Do not use Sergio especially if you’re using a VA loan. We almost lost our deal because he and his team failed to do the necessary research to understand that our condo is in fact VA approved based on its tract number. It wasn’t until we walked alway to work with another company that all of a sudden they changed their tune and decided that now the condo is VA approved. They dropped even more balls the day before we were supposed to close. We closed two weeks late. Run away.

Worst experience I have ever had. Receptive at first , closer to closing ghosted everyone, he would not answer calls, emails, title companies, agents, or even the clients needs and concerns. Luckily he passed loan off to be finished by Marilyn Green who was exceptional at helping us get this closed. Clients were homeless and belongings in a moving truck because closing was delayed approx 15 days. Due to his lack of communication.. Sergio did not care at all about the situation.

Mr. Centeno did not contact us in a timely manner. We worked with him for almost a month and didn't get anywhere. His advise did lead to both my significant other and my credit scores to go up, but he wasted our time. We found another company, was preapproved in a day and in escrow the next week. I do not recommend Mr. Centeno or this company.
