Ww did a VA IRRL refi, which we wzpected to be simple; especially since our mortgage was already with NAF. We never put total blame in one area, the communication process was tasking. While initial contact was through Ed, we thenhad to communicate with at least 3 other asst. It seemed like several documents had to be resigned, plus many of the documents dealt with through electronics, then had to be physically signed again at the title company. We came close to canceling this deal.

The communication between myself and the assistant was lacking. I felt like I was out of the loop once I submitted all of the documentation that was requested of me. The appraiser was difficult to get in touch with for the follow up appraisal. The entire process felt awkward and difficult. Perhaps if I had driven to the physical location in Swansea it would have been better rather than doing everything by email.

Communication is key. There were numerous times throughout this process that we needed more communication. First, we understood a portion of our equity was going to pay off debt. However, we were never told this was included in a contract during closure. Makes me wary that other things may be off. Second, when I was told I had to use a specific homeowners insurance, I was not told why. Third, my wife's income was provided, but not used. Never told why.

Overall, our lender got the job done and that's definitely important. However, the lack of time management, organization and professionalism is highly recognizable. We started good, but things kind of got off track a few weeks in. Miscommunication via email and texts. Lender should consider more direct contact such as telefono calls especially for urgent matters. Can't say I wouldn't use them again, but at least I know now what to expect.
