We were informed that we would receive a refund from our old escrow account after closing the loan. When we receive the check it is a much smaller amount than what was communicated. Then when we call, to discuss this nobody can answer our question. Very cryptic incomplete information, is provided then we are told by Gabriel "we are overreacting - respectfully". Not happy to be told I am overreacting to the fact that I did not get the refund money I was expecting.

I have started my application with New American Funding with Delilah as Loan Originator in Mid December 2020 and the refinance was still not completed in April 2021. There were no updates on my application till I ask and is very unresponsive. After close to 4 months they have sent another disclosure increasing the closing costs. Such a waste of time and effort. I did work with other lender in the past for my primary mortgage and they did the refinance in 20 days.

Clarity of communication was BEYOND lacking. We felt like we were inconveniencing Kelley at every turn. Due to the short/ unclear direction this process was made to be more complicated than it needed to be. Being less condescending and flip would be a great start. My partner and I called over 15 times between the two of us (not to Kelley directly but Cari because she was generally more helpful), but we could not reach anyone by phone. It likely would have assisted in this very strained dynamic.

General incompetent behavior. Losing or misplacing info time and time again. How many times do you have to send info to them for them to receive and save? Then they said I was “unprofessional”? Because of a phone call verifying my business was still around? I understand she was doing her job, but this was a personal loan, not a “professional “ loan? Not even in the same ballpark. Just a general lack of professionalism on their part. Safe bet, that no loans will be done through them anytime soon!

Horrible communication and very unprofessional. Would NEVER recommend to anyone I know. Had a awful experience and wish I could of had a different person to work with.
