It wasn't that bad. It just seemed to be more involved and more paperwork than some of the others. Part of that was the deal. It got more involved than some and I was helping an elderly couple that needed more help than most. It's amazing that we got it all to come together. I would rather work with local people that some one out of state. I would recommend Mark if there was someone who needed a second opinion or could not get financed locally. Thanks, Dan

They were still asking for documentation the day before closing. I didn't know if we were clear to close until 4 minutes before closing because of a box that wasn't checked during appraisal, the mistake made it through underwriting and was caught the day before closing - I get that mistakes happen but if you are going to be a nation-wide company, have nation-wide hours, day of closing they were MIA until 9 PST!!! My clients were first time buyers who never want to do this again because of NewAm.

No schedule of when paperwork was needed, they wanted it right now when they asked with no heads up. My fiancé and I work full time second/third shift jobs and it’s hard to get things with our schedules. A few days notice would have been better for needed things.

There was a lack of transparency and honestly throughout the process. The only reason that we closed with New American was the "incentives".

Better communication with myself, my agent, and the company. In addition to this, the speed of communication via email and phone needs improvement. The miscommunication led to many missed opportunities and need for constant clarification, which made this experience a memorable one but not because of the good moments but the headaches.

Pros: - Great rate - Answered questions to the best of his ability - Closing day was smooth Cons: - Delayed closing by 2 days for a mistake on their part. - Lack of communication, especially towards the end. Note: They were swamped with closing a number of loans when working on ours, but this still does not excuse the lack of communication on their part both with me and with our closing attorney.
