Called on a Saturday afternoon and was unfortunate enough to get Mr. Lopez as the loan officer who answered the phone that day. I asked him a few very simple questions about refinancing a primary residence and also an investment property. He was not knowledgeable at all regarding the mortgage rules regarding refinancing my investment property and put me on hold several times. Said he would contact me on Monday and never heard back. If he answers the phone...Ask for someone else.

Better planning and communication from the loan officer. Better loan rate information on the website for primary and investor customers.

There was literally ZERO communication from Tonya. I called her 4x one day with follow ups in email and she finally 3 days later, text me a brief respone. After calling her 2 more times for an update on our file... she still NEVER called me back. As a realtor, we are suppose to be a team with open communication. My client had very similar issues with her level of communication, and said at closing, he would "Never" use her again or recommend her. There was also an issue where buyers payment inc

I tried twice to contact the lender through the Zillow site directly was never contacted. If they are going to be a recommended lender and a request is submitted to be contacted, return contact isn't a unreasonable request.

I was amazed at the lack of knowledge, professionalism and poor responses from Jennifer Bryant in my recent home purchase. Although I was the one that initiated the purchase of the home and initially met with Jennifer to initiate the loan based on the amount of money I had for the down-payment, Jennifer refused to work with me after I started the loan process. Instead, she reached out to my husband who did not know what information I needed to manage the down payment details. It was extremely challenging as she also refused to respond to my emails or calls while quickly responding to emails from my husband. She told us the loan was approved, then harassed me for a 40 year old divorce decree proving that I wasn't paying child support for my 45 year old son. She wanted a copy of this divorce degree which I couldn't find after 40 years of traveling all over the world as a military officer. She asked for it 7 days before closing and there was no way to get a copy from archives in Kansas within that time, causing me much stress and concern that this would impact the closing. Plus, her poor handling of last minute employment verification made it impossible for me to provide it, causing me great stress and concern about the loan falling through after we had made huge commitments based on purchasing this home at this time. Although I had already provided employment validation via the DoD official process, she decided to request follow-up validation until shortly before closing when we were en-route to closing and it was too late to implement the official validation. At that point, she stated she would accept validation from a co-worker which is highly irregular if not unethical. Her 'fix' was to have the title company (Title & Guaranty) present me with a document at closing stating I was employed and had no expectation of losing or leaving my job in the near future. Interestingly, she did NOT require last minute employment verification from my husband or have him sign a statement about him leaving or losing his job. Another problem was the down-payment. She told me I could bring a certified check (but she couldn't give me a firm amount as late as 4 days before closing) to the closing, when in reality, the title company would only accept an electronic transfer. My Realtor had to step in and provide me this information when Jennifer could not or would not (this is an example of where Jennifer's refusal to work with me created serious problems/concerns). Also, I learned of this requirement after I had worked with my bank for the check. The information she provided to the title company (Guaranty Title) resulted in them listing only my husband as owner on Warranty Deed in the box marked Owner(s). Naturally, I didn't see this document at closing and am now trying to resolve this issue with the Title Company with no success. Jennifer made me feel like a second class citizen due to her refusal to work with me, a woman, in favor of working with my husband, a man.

It took forever to close when I would call no one would answer me no one. They would ask me to send paper work and I would and they would say I never sent it and they needed it again. I had to re send my paper work over and over and over again. There was a time where no one called me or told me anything for 2 weeks. I would call and no one would answer it was the worst experience ever. I hope I or no one ever has to go through it ever. It is my first time buying a home and it was the worst.

My fiance and I have had a very poor experience working with this lender. We met the loan officer at a bridal fair and he initially seemed knowledgeable, attentive, and motivated about assisting us through the first-time home buying process. Unfortunately this was not the case, and we received little to no communication, empty assurances, and ultimately wasted our time and delayed our home search significantly. When issues arose with our initially discussed pre-approval, our loan officer did not communicate any of these concerns with us for over 1 month despite us making numerous attempts to follow up via phone call, text, and email. When we were finally able to get a consultation scheduled, we discussed a plan to pursue another loan type. It has again been over 1 month since I have received any correspondence regarding this approval. The loan officer had assured he would also send us different price/monthly mortgage breakdowns for various loan types, which were never received. I have attempted to follow up numerous times, and have even sent additional notice we will be working with a new lender, and have not received ANY acknowledgement what so ever. It is unsettling to have provided additional personal/financial information to this provider and for them to have seemingly vanished. We have since pursued services with another lender, and have had wonderful communication and received the answers we needed in less than a week. If you are looking for a lender that will support your home buying needs, I would not recommend New American Funding.

Poor communication, she didn’t like to keep in contact with myself or my realtor. Micheline had her assistant contact me with inaccurate info. I was in the blind the entire time and she appeared to be insensitive to my situation. She didn’t like to answer the phone, and I always felt like I was bothering her.
