You should have checklist of items required for each type loan you process. I was asked to submit item by various individuals. This should come from a single focal point. I inquired about the interest rate and was told that i was locked in and that policy was that no new calculations would be made unless the rate dropped by .25 percent. My rate was at 2.5 percent. I found out that when we eventually closed, the rate was at 2.25 percent. Why didn't I get the lower rate?

Dee was great when I spoke with her but the time it took to close was delayed twice. After finding out a few different appraisers dumped the job I wish we would have had better communication.

Older people may need direct communication at the beginning of the application process, especially because it is online. I suggest an initial meeting, even though there is a pandemic. Just to go over what would be expected. There was confusion in the beginning, but I didn’t know that. That is, there was to be one loan, and the two of us each got requests for the same information. Phone calls were always responded to well.

The estimated cost of refi was about half what the final cost totaled. Also, we were refinancing to get a lower rate but also to pull $20,000 out of equity. We ended up $1,400 short.

Sam was great with first call when completing application but follow up after that was not so great. I sent multiple emails, left multiple voicemails. I inquired about additional information needed from me, the status of application, etc. I even tracked down his supervisor/manager who was not responsive either. Eventually I got a response 1-2 weeks later. Once it passed to the senior processor (Richard Busch), experience was exceptional.
