Towards the end of the process, there was a lack of communication and updates were sparce. Come to find out, after speaking directly to the title company, that I was portrayed in a negative light. The title company was told that I refused to provide documentation and that was simply not true.

Working with Marti went fine. We were disappointed in the way the title search and closing was handled. I don’t remember agreeing to your title lawyer. I received a form with a company I supposedly had chosen. That wasn’t true. I emailed and said I wanted a different lawyer. I was told to scratch through that one and put who I wanted. The end result was I cancelled the closing, but a lawyer arrived at my house unannounced. We felt pressured to use him because our rate lock would be up soon.

It took a very long time and required a huge amount of paperwork that seemed to duplicate what we knew they already had. We would go weeks without hearing any word of what was going on. For a simple refi of an existing loan it seemed very clumsy and poorly done

I think in the times of covid and being busy made things harder to complete but it seemed like I wasn’t replied to much and that things took longer than they should. However everything did go as planned and I purchased my house. Heather was always pleasant when we talked and before the covid shut downs she was always quick to respond. I’m sure the shut downs made things much more difficult to handle.
