I would like to make clear that I did not deal with Tania Murray at all. My ratings are completely based on my interactions with Valerie Carlo. Valerie was very unprofessional. When I would call her 90% of the time she did not answer and she never called me back. I would text her as well and no response. She would constantly use the excuse that she was on a conference call with her children's school. I have children and there is no school that has conference calls every week. The few times that she did answer she would be dealing with her children and not even paying attention to what I was saying. The worst of all though is that we had appointments for closing that kept being rescheduled. I am in the medical field and I see patients every day, so it is not easy to keep rescheduling my patients and inconvenience them. My husband works at a prison and also has to make arrangements in advance to be out. The week of closing I only heard from Valerie on Monday morning and nothing else until Thursday evening. She was in California on vacation and could not be bothered to even call me and let me know that our closing would not be happening on Wednesday. I had to get all my information and updates from my Realtor and that was not her job. New American Funding I am very thankful for helping my husband and I buy our home.

Will NOT ever use New American Funding again! Communication was horrible! Delayed my closing for issues that I thought were already taken care of, my agent and processor both were on "vacation" 2 days before my close date, didn't inform me and didn't complete my loan. I Contacted the managers and they treated me like they were the victim. Had to get the regional manager and VP involved before I was able to get any results. Did finally close but not without undue stress and aggravation!

After a 20 minute phone call with Gabriel, I no longer wanted to do business with him. He either couldn't, or wouldn't, answer my questions. I repeatedly asked him questions and did not get an answer. The information that he provided me was vague and an estimate, based on his own admission. He told me that we were at the beginning of the loan process, even though 80 days had already passed and we were within a week of closing. He treated me like I was a stupid woman who couldn't understand him.

Unable to reached when needed. Does not return calls, emails, nor texts in a timely manner or just not at all. Wasted credit checks and money trying to straighten out my husband's credit. We had two days to get a situation handled and when I had a question about it (before I paid my money) to be sure I was doing the right thing. I never got a response and still haven't (going on a month). We're now getting somewhere with our local bank which is the route we should have taken in the beginning.

If she had not exposed my wife's ss# in un-encrypted emails. If she had not sent our loan docs to the wrong email address risking our financial info. If she had not tried to sell us a mortgage on a property in another state that we don't even own.

Applied for a refinance. Spent lots of time putting my packet of Employment history, debt history, financial history etc. together, then complete silence. After two weeks, I called and nothing. Called again and crickets. Left an email, and again complete and utter silence. What a joke. I took my business elsewhere and I would suggest the same for you.

I am surprised that they wanted us to review them as we did not have a good experience. They muddled their way through the process as if it was their first time. We received about a dozen phone calls asking for "just one more thing" and the process took so long we had to extend where we were living for a month for $3200.00. When we asked our realtor to get involved she contacted Michelle and nothing changed. The kicker, I am SELF EMPLOYED and submitted all the required documents to show that. A week before the close, they called me to speak with my supervisor to verify employment. What? The title company had heard of similar experiences from this office. Buyer beware here.

There was poor communication throughout the process. Even at the title company we could not sign all the paperwork because there were some outstanding builder incentives that were not accounted for. We were told later that this builder, preferred lender, incentive was applied to pay for our rate. All of this information should have been readily available to us. We also asked to be presented with some options based on our credit scores for the loan to be in my wife's name only, my name only or in both names. Basically, so we could get the best rate possible. This was ignored and we only received loan paperwork with both of our names on it. Unpleasant experience overall. I would not use New American Funding again after this.
