More communication. I was not completely displeased, but there were several times I had to work to pull information during the process rather than it being the other way around. In a previous transaction with this company it was a flawless, painless event. This was different though. No disrespect to anyone, it all came through at the end, but of the 4 houses I’ve purchased In my life, this was the least positive customer service I’ve experienced.

The overall refi process was fine, but the communication was lacking. We had to initiate contact on the status of progress, sometimes multiple times before we heard back. There was also a surprise at closing that was not communicated to us.

I ended up having to pay an additional mortgage payment when we should have already closed on the house. Nathan did not contact me for several weeks prior to closing and did not know I had to make another payment. I thought I was going to receive the full amount of my escrow. I only received $213.44!!! While I am happy with my interest rate, I am not happy with how long this took and the fact that I was told that I would receive the entire escrow balance and did not.

We had to pull for updates from the New American team, and scheduling the final closing was also difficult because both us and the notarizing agent were given minimal details.
