I don't think we ever actually talked to Matt. It was all done through an assistant, Beth. We didn't know if we were good to go until the day of closing. The communication was not great. Lots of unanswered questions. We still don't know how much our HELOC payment is and I currently trying to track down contact info fr the HELOC loan servicer.

Matthew lacked in communication. Matthew had little patience with us. Very unprofessional. He constantly lied to us regarding closing. Had to involve supervisor to see results. He was the worst. Would NEVER refer. Don't get involved with this company!

My loan manager, Damien, was largely inaccessible and non-communicative for days at a time (both phone and email). Each time he would check on something, it took days to get information about what next steps were needed. He also continually said he would reach out, touch base, or finalize something by a deadline--that he then repeatedly failed to meet. He would promise that he could do something or make something work, but then he couldn't because of some new information or form needed. My closing took so long and had to be rescheduled so many times that my seller almost backed out entirely. Very disappointing, and would NOT recommend. The only bright light was my final processor, Diana. She was the only competent person I worked with at NAF. She was quick to reply to emails and new what she needed and when she would have answers for me. She saved my deal.

Diego Bonilla deserves 0 stars. After several weeks of him having all necessary information, he finally got back to us with a verbal pre-approval. He let us know he had to check on how the taxes were split for the two homes we wanted to purchase, hence only getting a verbal approval at that time. When he told us the taxes would prevent him from approving us for the two homes on one parcel, he never specified that we would no longer be approved at all. I’ve been calling and texting Diego for a week trying to get a final answer on if we are approved, since he did say we were. Now we are forced to renew our lease rather than buying a home right now because he wasted so much of our time. It’s not about if we got approved or not, he still should’ve let us know before completely ghosting us. I do not recommend working with New American Funding and I would highly encourage you to not work with Diego, unless you have time to waste and the energy to deal with his lack of professionalism.

I worked with Kat on another listing (not this one) and I did not receive a survey. I was not impressed with the fact that she kept moving the loan "goal posts" and my client was not approved for the loan (eventhough he accomplished ALL tasks required by Kat and her team) Disappointing to say the least.
