Was in contact for a short while, then have never heard from him since. I have left voicemails, and sent emails, but have heard nothing back. We don’t know if we were ever even approved for a loan, luckily we are going in a different direction.

Communication was HORRIBLE. There were delays created by individuals in the offices in an attempt to “speed up the process” when parties didn’t know exactly what they were doing and damage that was being caused. The Underwriter was HORRIBLE and exhausting to deal with asking for documentation and explanations that had already been provided. Overall I’d rate 0/10 and would not recommend.

How long can this be? Let's just say my overall experience with New American was incredibly poor. I had very little follow through, communication was lacking at best. I would email or call and get absolutely no response or o would hear something a day to a week later. We showed up at what was supposed to be our closing to be told we were not clear to close BY THE LAWYERS OFFICE! we drove from Indiana to North Carolina for closing. Chris stated multiple times he didn't know what was happening or it was a different department handling this so he wasn't sure what the hold up was. I asked Chris for his managers name and number, he responded "give him a few minutes to find that Information" I am quite certain her knows his managers name and number by heart. He never did give me the information. I called the main number and found it myself. Chris always made it seem as if the problem was the backend working on the loan. I felt I was attempting to corral cats to get information. 1. I would never recommend New American to anyone much less Chris. As soon as we can we plan to refinance and get away from this absolutely horrid company. RUN DONT WALK AWAY!

It would have been better if the loan processed timely before the interest rates went up. I feel New American should have reduced their fees due to this delay. This took over 90 days to complete with duplicate documents requested.

This is the worst finance experience of my life. I started a 2nd mortgage over 10 weeks ago and they ask me today for the same documents I provided at the start of the loan. I have a 1st mortgage with New American and I am looking to move it. The Senior Processor Leanne Huddleston told me Aug 10th she was wanting on one insurance document to close. Save your self 3 months of nothing but headaches and use someone else.

Better communication, a more accurate deadline not July 29th and closed on August 17th, knowledge of what's needed. To be competent enough to ask for required document's to send to the processor so that the underwriter does not have to keep requesting additional documents. To not be frustrated and stop responding within the last days making sure our client gets clear to close, not everytime I ask a question you dont know. That is unacceptable. I personally will not be using New American Funding and will not recommend anyone. I would have given all 0's but that was not an option
