Anila was nice on the first call, and that is where it ended. She attacked us, chastised us, and made us afraid to interact with her at all. We only interacted with her when we had to because it was always such an unpleasant and truly stressful experience. She was extremely rude and mean to our realtor and title company as well. I would never in my life speak to clients the way she spoke to us. All because we wanted to have a call to ask questions as we were first time homebuyers. We went with New American Funding because of the good reputation, but she puts a big huge red X on that reputation that will make it hard for me to ever, in good faith, refer New American Funding to anyone else that is joining us in our new hometown. Her team was great (I feel sorry for them since they, I’m sure, felt the wrath of Anila as well) so I don’t want this to come back on them, this is just Anila. I’m even scared writing this thinking that she is going to find someway to attack me over this saying how unfair it is, and she is so good at her job and all her clients love her (all things she threw at us while we was attacking us for asking for better communication from her) but it’s worth it to maybe get her to change her behavior so no one else has to be treated this way again. We appreciate that she was able to help us get our loan and so quickly, but the customer service (or lack thereof) was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced.

Eventually the transaction closed and the buyers got the house but the lack of communication and transparency throughout the process made this the hardest and most stressful , frustrating transaction I have ever done.

If we had better communication in most cases and been straightforward. Should make calls instead of texts and possibly schedule dates to meet for one-on-one discussions of the loan and where things stand. Make us feel that we are a priority and that this purchase is a big deal for first-time homebuyers. Help us feel that we can reach out to the LO instead of the broker for additional questions. Miscommunication and not being straightforward were a big deal for us when we were renting.

Did not communicate with Buyer agent or list agent. Made the transaction very stressful and had to have extend the closing.

As an agent, if communication is your thing, go somewhere else. I pride myself on communication between myself and lenders so we can give our clients the best experience possible and unfortunately, the communication and ability to get us to the finish line in a timely fashion just didn't happen.

Not only was the client overly disappointed with Jake but the lack of knowledge and communication makes New American Funding look bad. As an agent I would call asking questions about things on the appraisal and Jake would say he would call me back and no get back to me for days at times. Been in real estate several years even using New American Funding for my personal loan. I have never been so disappointed in lender before.
