More communication- actual Communication on items we were waiting on, more transparency- literally one of the worst Deals I’ve ever done.

This had to have been one of the worst interactions with a lender in my 10 years of being in the industry. The level of disregard, not just from Chris but also his direct supervisor was mind blowing. I can tell you with complete assurity that i will not recommend neither Chris nor New American Funding to anyone and I will be sure to redirect any clients or buyers submitting offers with either Chris or New American Funding as their lender. Absolute worst experience, by far.

Absolutely a horrible place to work! Push push push, 20 hour days are expected be squeezed into an 8 hour day because no overtime. Worked many hours off the clock to keep up with NAF demands. Borrowers are just a number on a spread sheet and there is zero actual concern for a customer's ability to repay the loan, just push push push. My direct manager sucked, and was just a robot being an NAF robot. Training was a joke, lead by idiots in a department that has zero accountability. Do not use NAF for your loan purposes, there are plenty of good lenders out there and NEVER say yes to working here because after being laid off twice now, they lie to there employees. Rick and Patty the owners need to take a hard look into the business they created. Absolutely ridiculous. If I could I would put no stars. My guess after this post is reviewed it will get deleted anyways because that is the bureaucracy of the company that is broker Solutions Inc doing business as new American funding.

Review by Dania MACIAS for Dylan Hoffman

I am a Realtor that received an offer from a Buyer that used Dylan Hoffman and US Bank on a Condo in UTC in San Diego. I requested an Underwriter letter of approval from Dylan with US Bank to confirm we would have no issues and that we would close on time. He provided the Letter which means the Buyer was fully approved for the loan. I spoke several times with Dylan and he assured me that we would close on time. My Seller was moving out of state and it was critical that we close on time. We were scheduled to close on Tuesday, April 23 but due to poor Lender performance and the endless excuses and delays, we ended up closing 8 days late, there is no excuse for this poor performance when my Lender with C2 Financial can get a Loan closed in 2 weeks. It took US Bank 24 days to close and our contract stated 16 days. I provided the Lender with the HOA docs on the day we opened escrow so that we would not have any delays. A few days before closing, Dylan explains that his Loan department forgot to request the HOA questionaire clearance from the HOA and he blamed it on the HOA for the delay. This caused our escrow to be forced to be extended an additional 3 days which he assured me would close on Friday, April 26. On Friday, April 26, he gives me another excuse that the Processor needs more time to issue the Loan documents and assures me we will close on Monday, April 29. On Monday, April 29, he gives me another excuse that now the Loan Processor needs time to review the Loan documents before they can go to the Buyer. On Tuesday, April 30, he tells me we won't close till Wednesday, May 1. Finally after 24 days of torture dealing with his Buyer who was a nightmare to work with , we finally closed. I have worked in real estate for 12 years and the Lenders that I work with follow the timeline of the contract and close on time. I felt like Dylan said what I wanted to hear to get the business and once we were in escrow, he just gave 1 excuse after another for the multiple delays in closing. My Seller and I were extremely upset and stressed at the late closing as it was a major inconvenience for him and for me as the Listing Agent. This deal ranks in my Top 5 worst escrows of my Career. Do not use Dylan Hoffman or US Bank.

This review is on behalf of my parents. Angela Thurston Poindexter was the worst person that they've ever had to deal with. She lacked communication to the point of my parents not being able to get a hold of her. My parents were buying a house here from out of state, they needed to know what was going on with the loan. Angela texted most of the time and it was usually one word answers. She always seemed to be somewhere other than the office when she did actually answer her phone. Plus, she wanted to constantly talk about personal stuff. She also lost or misplaced important paperwork and had to request my parents to send it again, like a copy of their drivers licenses, something they gave the first time meeting with her. With her being so slow and non-communicative, it was making my parents question why they're even trying to get a loan from this company. She also somehow got them a homeowners insurance policy from a company that my parents didn't even want. They didn't even know that she did that for them. It didn't start becoming smooth until they finally had contact with the loan processor. The loan processor was the one to catch the homeowners insurance policy from a company my parents never agreed to or even knew about and switched to the one my parents had gotten themselves. Angela didn't end up finally contacting them until the day before they closed on the house, she hadn't talked to them for about a week and a half before that. Luckily the loan processor was very communicative and helped the process along easily for them. They never want to deal with Fairway again after this mess. Plus, their agent never wants to cross paths with Angela again, she even gave him a big headache.

I was connected with Mike via Zillow and initially he was pretty responsive, but as my student loans required additional documentation he became reluctant to continue, at one point suggesting that people with student loans just don't buy houses. He stopped communicating, and after a week I checked back in and he said he was waiting on me to provide "letters" but didn't specify what kind of letters, and did not respond to my request for more information. I sent him my best guess for the document but never got another response; this was weeks ago. I have since learned this is common practice for lenders, if your situation is complex some will just drop you, which wouldn't be so bad except each hard inquiry into your credit history affects your score. I wish I had gone with a personally recommended lender the first time through (I've since connected with a good lender) I could trust to go the distance with me so my credit score hadn't taken that little hit.

I submitted my mortgage loan application to Cheryl Kuck after she and I talked on the phone and she asked me to submit several documents. She did not respond for several days. When I inquired, she said she was going to review them but never got back to me. The most unprofessional, incompetent and rude agent I ever dealt with.

I was the listing agent and there was confusion on who the point of contact was through the transaction which was not great. It started off poorly with not setting expectations on a closing date for a renovation loan after my discussion with the mortgage originator, Kristie Lee, who ultimately blamed it on the renovation team which was different from her communication of 45 days after I questioned it having gone through renovation loans in the past and her communication to the buyer and buyer agent. The buyer agent was not able to get clear communication (Jonathan Maxey was the processor and someone else on the team) and my attempts were unanswered as to delays and where things were in the loan process. It was frustrating. Who are you? I've never seen your name in the process of this loan. Obviously, it wasn't managed well. I'm amazed at how much communication I am receiving in the last part of the loan process and post-closing. I highly recommend better communication through the process and when there is an issue with the parties involved. I hope that my feedback on your poor performance will help you improve your systems and communication. It is unfortunate that if I see another pre-approval letter from NAF that it will be received with trepidation.
