Not helpful at all. Led on a wild goose chase. Kept on being pushed off to other people in office who got ruder as we went on. Took more than 2 weeks (almost 3) for denial when we told them we had a very short timeline going in and they assured that is was no problem. Questions not answered. I would NEVER recommend them. Got qualified by another lender in 3 days.

Simply put, respond to emails/calls/texts, answer questions, or if you truly don’t know, just say it. Ghosting people in this industry is not acceptable. I’ve Been a real estate agent for a few years, this was honestly the worst experience i have ever had. Not only was there a lack of communication it was like Adam was avoiding it all together. Multiple calls and emails where we would request answers to multiple questions and we would get no response or a one line vague answer that helped no one. Just a complete lack of customer service, care, knowledge, overall embarrassing to the industry. No empathy for multiple families involved in transactions asking for answers and nothing. I would like to request that NewAmerican look into this further, as I will never work with another NewAmerican loan officer due to Adam. and will try my best to make sure this guy doesn’t ruin anyone else’s dream to own a house. Just absolutely never seen anyone with this little effort for clients and corresponding agents. End of the day, there is no room in this industry for loan officers like this and no client deserves this horrible of representation, I feel bad for anyone who gets him as a loan officer.

He was terrible at communicating and responding. We made it to the closing table with the wrong closing instructions. Title was instructed that buyer was contingent on closing their current property when in fact they were not. How does a loan office not know this about his clients?? terrible.

Review by Isaiah C Archuleta for New Hofhine

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received from Robert Hofhine, your Sales Manager at New American Funding. My experience with him was unprofessional and deceitful. False Promises and Misleading Information: Mr. Hofhine consistently badmouthed my other options, particularly Vandyke Mortgage, claiming they offered false rates and higher fees. He falsely assured me New American Funding wouldn't sell my loan and would guarantee future financing at lower rates with no cost. These were blatant lies used to pressure me into using New American Funding. Aggressive and Disrespectful Behavior: Mr. Hofhine's communication was aggressive and disrespectful. He became hostile when I questioned his quotes, stating he's "100% commission" and prioritizing his needs over mine. This behavior was unacceptable and pressured me into signing under false pretenses. This, if recorded, should be a clear indicator of his unprofessional conduct. Lack of Support After Signing: Following the sale, Mr. Hofhine became unresponsive. He used excuses like meetings or being at the gym to avoid my calls. I was left with Amber, his assistant, who became the sole point of contact. I repeatedly expressed my concerns about Robert's behavior to her. Deception Regarding Title and Loan Sale: Mr. Hofhine further misled me by misrepresenting his title as "Loan Officer" when it was actually "Sales Manager." Furthermore, within a month of closing on April 15th, my loans were unexpectedly sold, directly contradicting his promise of New American Funding retaining ownership. Unacceptable Treatment and Consequences: This entire experience has been a gross disappointment. I was lied to, pressured, and ultimately disrespected as a customer. I recommend a thorough investigation into Mr. Hofhine's sales practices and consider appropriate disciplinary action. I will be sharing my experience online to warn others about these deceptive tactics. I urge you to address these issues to prevent similar situations for future clients. Sincerely, [Your Name] I apologize again for the inaccuracy. This revised version reflects the correct name of the bank. share more_vert Why did you remove that he was aggressive telling me either you are going to sign or not as I'm 100% what more do you want from me! edit Show drafts volume_up You're right, that detail is important for portraying the severity of Robert Hofhine's behavior. Worst experience that I have ever had with a “Professional.” Nick and his crew are nothing more than a bunch of frat children who have no place managing people’s money. I went into their office to sign some papers and there was loud music playing, bottles of alcohol everywhere, and dogs running around the office. The suit I was wearing was destroyed by a dog jumping all over me. Nick almost destroyed my loan the night before closing. The lawyers were p*****. They kept passing me off to other employees and no one could answer my questions. This loan officer and his office are a bunch of delinquents. Not professional at all. Never would I ever recommend Movement Mortgage to anyone!

Nick was pleasant on the phone—when we were able to reach him. He was far and away the least responsive agent we've ever worked with, and we've closed on multiple properties over the years. Whereas agents from other lenders were easy to get a hold of and actively sought our business, Nick was the opposite; it was like pulling teeth just to get a response from him either via phone or text. Second, we experienced gross unprofessionalism regarding the handling of the loan estimate. We discussed financing terms with Nick on several occasions both over the phone and by text. However, when we received the second loan estimate, it did not reflect the agreed upon terms. When we asked Nick about this, he claimed to have no knowledge or recollection of our past discussions, including the verbal and written commitments he made to us. I was taken aback, so I read our text exchange over the phone to him in an attempt to jog his memory. Despite clear and unambiguous texts in which he confirmed the desired terms, Nick continued to dodge, temporize, and equivocate. It was bizarre. I would have much preferred a straight shooter who simply said, "I've reached the limit of what I can do for you. Unfortunately, this is the best we can offer at this time." Instead, what we got came across as seedy behavior mixed with gaslighting. Nick would accede to our requests on the phone in order to string us along, fail to follow through on those commitments, and when confronted, pretend like our previous conversations never happened. This is unacceptable conduct in our opinion. Based on this experience, my wife and I will not be recommending Movement Mortgage to friends and family.

Would not communicate an agent. Said he would only communicate w buyer until buyer demanded he involve agent. Complained when we wanted to talk at “the end of his day”. Real estate doesn’t happen within “office hours”. Client had to continually restate and remind him of info he already provided. Could go on and on but will leave it at this. One of the worst communicating loan officers I have dealt w in 20 years.

There was a lot of miscommunication and passive aggressiveness. Wish I would have chose a different company to go through and had a better experience. Made me feel stupid and less than for minority of the interactions.
