Unclear communication regarding required distributions and inclusions into escrow (i.e. the remainder of 2022 taxes was included despite me paying the full year personally and providing proof of payment). Several items that I uploaded into the portal were requested which resulted in duplicate requests, even after I sent a screen shot showing that the documentation was uploaded, the agent still requested it via email as well. I filled out direct deposit/ACH info for the closing payment and was sent two checks: one for myself and one for a random amount to my credit card company that I had already paid in full. After receiving two checks instead of one direct deposit, I inquired about it with the agent and received this survey as a response. New American should have a pivotable due diligence process for applicants who are financially literate.

I have no idea who "Jason Lambert" is, so it's hard to rate them. My loan processor was Shawn Jones-Brown and he did a fine job.

It seemed that everything sent to us was to be signed needed to be completed ASAP. Not everyone has a Monday through Friday 8-5 job. I feel like communication could be improved.

Better communication with all parties, borrower, realtor. Needed to set a concrete closing date and time prior to the evening before scheduled closing date. We were informed that our paperwork was finished on Friday, but had to wait on paperwork til Tuesday which didn’t allow us to close early. Left a couple of calls and texts with no response until a couple days later. Although we were able to secure the loan and the house, this experience was just decent compared to the first time I used NAF.

I provided John the timeline needed to meet the seller's requirements which he committed to meet. I had to message or call John to get updates or remind him of deadlines. The loan processor and department was very unreliable. John was unable to get them, especially Jessica, to meet deadlines or provide a required commitment letter. I provided all documentation within 24 hours of requests. This was done even while I was traveling internationally.
