I was working with another company/agent when I attended Laura's mortgage class. I was so impressed with the class and Laura that I switched companies to Laura and Movement Mortgage. Big mistake. After turning in all required documents (Investment info, Pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, etc.) I waited a week and didn't hear anything so I called the office. They were confused and said I had only turned in half of the documents and were still missing some; after a while they figured out they had made 2 folders for me each with different info. This I could forgive, simple mistake. I was set up with a phone meeting with Laura where she went over my options, what she thought was best, and she said that since I was buying the home I was currently living in from my father that the contract should be very simple and that she could help me with it and I wouldn't need to get a lawyer- at this point they still needed to do the official credit pull. I thought that sounded good and that she would be sending me details or an example of a contract. This never happened and when I called her office to inquire a week later I was told that I needed to get a contract to them and that they did not assist with this. Ok.. so I get the m a contract and get a face to face appt with Laura. (Everything that goes through this place takes a week so now it's been almost a month and interest rates are on the rise) Anxious to get things going I had asked if there's anything I need to do before the appt, any additional info they might need, and was told no, everything looks good, just need to talk shop. At my appointment with Laura she opens my folder and starts talking about things that we have never spoke of, turns out someone else's paperwork was in my folder (very organized office). Then she proceeded to stare at her computer screen for- no joke- 30 minutes finishing up some stuff for my folder (why this hadn't been done previously is a mystery to me), then she asked if I had contacted a title company or an insurance company. Of course if they had told me to do this before the meeting I would have been more than happy to have all my ducks in a row, but I didn't, so I got to wait another week before things moved along. The rest of it went fairly smoothly, signed the papers, happy to be done; although I did end up paying for the home inspection, the cost of which was supposed to come out of the loan. Then I get a bill from the insurance company, I called both the insurance and the mortgage company to make sure that this would be paid from my escrow account, everything sounded good. Then my mortgage was sold before I had even made a payment, not a big deal, they said that might happen. Then I get a past due notice from the insurance company. I called Movement- they can't make the payment because it's in transition (why they didn't make it before I don't know, bill was due mid July, official loan transfer final Sept 1st). Called the new company, they were very apologetic but can't access my escrow account until the transition was final, but gave me lots of info for my insurance company to get ahold of them and verify my loan was in transition. Working with Laura and Movement mortgage had me in tears at many times and I did not feel well supported.

I wish it were possible to give this man 0 stars or possibly negative! He was so rude. He refused to call my agent back after she tried to contact him several times and he made me lose my dream house because he was so uncooperative! I’ve been searching for a home like this for what seems like eternity and now I have to continue my search because this guy couldn’t get his act together. I WILL be switching lenders. He is absolutely terrible.

Disgraceful Treatment of Veterans - New American Funding Fails Its Mission If you’re a veteran seeking respect, professionalism, and a lender that values your service, avoid New American Funding at all costs. I approached this company expecting the level of care they claim to provide to veterans, only to be met with blatant disrespect and dismissiveness. When questioned about the delays in my file, I was told by Duane—and I quote—“We can work on others’ files that are serious about us.” Excuse me? Here’s a newsflash: I am the customer. It’s your job to take every client seriously, especially those you advertise to serve—the veteran community. This statement not only showed a lack of professionalism but a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to serve veterans who have given so much to this country. Duane’s comment and attitude reflect poorly on the entire company and its supposed mission to support veterans. If this is how New American Funding and their representatives like Duane treat the men and women who served, imagine how they handle others. This company is an embarrassment to the lending industry and a betrayal to the veterans they promise to support. Take your business elsewhere—there are lenders out there who will respect your time, your service, and your commitment to securing a better future.

Run from her she is as dishonest as the day is long. She tells you one thing and means another and nothing she provided was true. I would never do business with this woman , another friend had the same problems. She also acted out and tried inappropriate behaviors to get business and will do this with anyone, very bizzare behavior. Please be very careful with her. Go elsewhere.

Not a solid experience with lender. Not uncommon for questions to go unanswered for a couple days.. If you have limited home buying experience, or have some credit things to work through, I’d probably skip her.. much of what she said and what were on paper were different....

My broker included this guy in an email chain to be of assistance to me since his counterparts in New York were struggling to do their jobs. We've been in contract since August and it's almost December and we still have not closed on the home. This guy decided to send an early morning rant to me threatening my deposit and saying I will be in default of the loan because he assumed the title company did not provide the required documentation, which was false. He failed to do the necessary due diligence and simply wanted to blame me, the client, while threatening my deposit. I will never work with this bank again, especially this guy.

This was my worst refinance experience ever. It started well and the rate was competitive but I feel this broker over commits and cannot deliver. They did extend our lock at no cost but the communication was poor and we had undue anxiety. Two weeks after close I'm still trying to track down $3000 of my money that was in escrow for property tax. I requested that they coordinate so that it wasn't paid by both my old and new loan but it didn't happen. At closing I asked if a cashiers check was going to work and they said yes but in the end it was not allowed and I had to run to the bank and wire the money in the end. The escrow company would not accept a check. I received emails from people asking for information from me that I did not know and was unsure if they were really legitimate representatives. While the rates are good be careful if you want to close on time. I've used a number of online brokers and had a good experi3ece but will never use this new again.

Initial contact was ok, would not give a pre approval letter, didn't not work well with my agent. I honestly believe that I was never approved for a mortgage, because she refused to give the approval letter. She stated that's not how she does business. This was not my first purchase, so I know how things are done. After two weeks, I just stopped looking for a home and started looking for another lender.
