I got a VA loan through Liberty Mortgage, and it was not an easy process. I was constantly having to fill out forms, refill out forms, sign the same forms and send them back. So much so that my closing was moved a couple days because of it. Partly my fault I will admit my lack of understanding. But my biggest problem was that I made it clear that I did not have money to put down toward closing. On my pre-approval letter I misunderstood the wording on closing costs. I thought that Liberty was stating how much on top of my loan they would allow for closing. Which I thought was a good idea. Well, turns out it was how much a seller can put toward closing? I'm not sure what sense that makes at all, and that led to my real estate agent explaining to me that it looks like I will have to pay closing costs. I called up Liberty Mutual and was explained why they put the verbiage on the pre-approval, which still does not make any sense. I explain to him I don't have money to put into closing and I was assured that he would work it out where I would not have to pay closing costs. I told him that I don't want to be down to the last day and find out that I have to pay closing costs. Well long, long story short. I paid off my credit card and it was suppose to raise my credit score according to their simulation. It did not raise it enough. So I can either keep my rate and pay 2k or raise my rate, and monthly payment, and pay 1k. But its no big deal because I can pay the mortgage insurance with my credit card that I paid off and not have to pay much at closing is what I'm told. Very unsatisfied to say the least. I myself and other accountable. If I say I'm going to do something, I will, and I expect the same from others. When someone tells me $0 due at closing, that means $0. And yes I found out the day before closing that I would have to pay this. At the end the Liberty Mutual rep that I was working with didn't seem to care or had got tired of hearing my complaints I guess. I basically felt that I was being ignored. I will not use this company in the future.

The negligence of Academy mortgage, and Eric in particular, in not informing me that my deed could not be recorded in accordance with my instructions caused me much anguish and money. I did not find out until the day of the closing, which was done electronically as I was still in NY. Eric blamed it on oversight by his assistant in forgetting to send me an email informing me of this. - This is not oversight, this is pure negligence. Eric is the overseer of this transaction and should have been on top of it. I would never recommend this mortgage lender.

What can I say this lender including Erick will say anything to get you to commit to a loan. The truth is they lose documents are extremely slow and will not return calls. I had a contract on a house and if it was up to Eric and team I would have lost the house and very large deposit if I did not pay cash for it. They never contacted my Realtor, Title company or me and I had 2 months until closing. After I committed to the lender for an apprasel I was told it would be nice and slow. In the two months working with them I kept receiving letters saying I abandoned the application. The reason why is Erick and Team will decide what loan you should have and then underwrite you first. Despite sending multiple requests to send to underwriter they never did. I cancelled the loan and will go elsewhere.

We told this woman the type of loan we needed. Our credit wasnt great but we fixed it. After initial meeting, which was a reschedule because she didnt show the first time, we got 3-4 words from her at a time. Not timely. And it included a speak to her assistant at the end. Did not get loan we needed. Did not get house I dreamed of. Do NOT USE HER.

These positive reviews are probably there employees or family. Kelsey Lied to me about everything, Tom seems very disorganized, there is no communication. When you leave a message or send an email its proper customer service to reply. I was tossed around to several people and what they advertise on 105.1 is a lie that is not the case. I feel like this is a countrywide scam, and its funny because other lenders even a bank told me the opposite of what they told me. Stay away find a more reputable company.

I had an absolutely awful experience. There was a lack of communication throughout the process, especially as we got closer to closing. If I could go back, I would not have worked with Eric at Thrive Mortgage.

As a Licensed Realtor, I could not beg you enough to put your trust in someone else other than John Norment with New American Funding. He lost my clients their earnest money, the rental home they were living in, and their dignity by pre-approving them for an amount that was outrageous based on their debt-to-income ratio and cash on hand. I would STRONGLY suggest you do not do business with him. Find a local lender in the market you are wanting to buy in and call them. Do not fall for this guy’s lies, he will cost you a lot of money and headache and not offer to pay one cent back.
