Sadly, I didn't have a good experience with this lender. We entered into an agreement to build a new home after receiving pre-approval for a mortgage. The broker and processor were great. But at the 11th hour the UW nixed the deal over back taxes despite having proof the taxes were paid in full. Fortunately, the builder's internal lender stepped in and gave us a mortgage. We have good credit and met the debt / income requirements. New American hung us out to dry just days before the closing. I would not recommend them. They reached out to me and were very apologetic but there was nothing they could do. Then I looked at my credit report and found they had done FOUR hard pulls on my credit. So, New American Funding not only put me in a hard spot they also harmed my credit with excessive hard pulls that will stay on the report for two years. If you are buying a house from Lennar, just use their in-house lenders.

If you think they are good on mortgage deals. But once they made you their customer they will sell your information to another mortgage company just for a couple of bucks without letting you know. Which is sucks!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY On September 25th I contacted New American Funding for a refi cash out loan after having a nightmare experience with Carrington Mortgage. I spoke with Antwaun Dawson and told him that one of the reasons I didn’t go with Carrington is because of the poor communication, he assured me this would be different with NAF and after providing him with my financial information, I was told I was approved. I uploaded all the documents they requested, signed the paperwork they sent me and waited. On October 9th, after inquiring the status of my application via email, Antwan told me that they were “still pluggin away” and that it would take a couple of weeks and we should be at closing. On October 23rd I received a Loan status updated that explained that I was on step 1 and they would be in touch. On October 24th I received another update that I was on step 3 (there are 5 steps to completion), and again on October 26th I received a notice to sign documents in my portal which appeared to be the exact same documents that I signed originally in September. November 2nd, I sent an email to Antwaun asking on the status of my loan, he did not reply so I called that following Monday, left a message on his voice mail with no reply. I called back later that afternoon asking to speak with someone, they told me Antwaun was not in the office, would I like to speak with his manager Jeffrey Keter who just happened to be on the phone as well, so they left him a message. I waited a few hours and called back when they told me that Jeffrey was on the phone and they would leave another message. Finally, about an hour later Jeffery called me and went through my application with me like he had never seen it before. Jeffrey told me that I was not approved for this application and apologized for the mix-up, he told me that Antwaun should not have proceeded with this application and said he would talk to him about it, he also gave me a few options like adding a signer and I told him I would have to think about it. He told me that he would email me more information as well as his contact information. I never received that email; I never received a call from either Antwaun or Jeffery the following days. I had contractors on hold to repair my home and waiting on approval from this loan, I put off repairing a leak from my HVAC system thinking I could save some repair money by purchasing a new one with the money I received from my refinance. I had no idea that it was going to take as long as it did and mold started growing inside my walls waiting to hear on this loan in which I passed on this information to Antwaun asking him to check on the status of my loan several times only to not hear anything from him. NAF put me off for nearly 6 weeks. I am very angry and disgusted on the way I was treated by this company. I HIGHLY suggest not doing business with them.

The entire experience with New American was terrible. At first the rep was responsive until we agreed to go with their company for our refinance. We were told when we started the process on Oct 6, that we would be able to close by Oct 31. When we would call to inquire, we would never get a hold of our rep and would have to call the main number to speak to anyone. When we were finally able to speak to someone they would say “You’re almost there.” This happened for several weeks until we finally called daily. The loan finally closed on December 17th. I would never use New American or recommend them to anyone.

We had a very trying experience with New American. Communication was inconsistent in frequency and accuracy. We regularly had to email multiple times in order to get any information or updates. We started the process of our refi in August and it didn't close until the very end of December. We had multiple instances where we were asked to resend documentation we had already sent, even after our refi was already funded. We expected better organization and communication overall.

Horrible Communication. Customer Service does not exist here. I submitted on April 4th and was immediately connected to a rep. It was all downhill from there. Tuesday , April 7th i was connected to a Loan Officer John Broadus who had all my information and promised to get with me next day. Its April 14th. Never able to reach him by phone and only 1 email response. I had another Loan offer try to connect me with no luck. He finally sent a email April 10th just saying " just got your file on April 7th". On the 13th i was prompted to log-in to another account, but it would not grant me access. Keep in mind, Still no f/u from the company. So I called, and i was connected to John again...oh boy. He instructed me to follow-up after reviewing the options, but guess what the system would not allow me to create an account. I called right back, no answer. I sent an email no answer. 10 DAYS later and i don't even have a quote, All my personal information has been uploaded to their site since April 7th. The secretary wouldn't even allow me to speak to a manager when i called. I will take my business to a refinance lender who actually wants my business.

Very upset that I was called and given a great deal on refinancing my house just to find out it was for a rental house I had that I had sold 2 years earlier. You think they would know that since I had been with them for many years. So, then I precede to tell them this and oh my house that I live in does not get this special.. How disappointing. Now They won't talk to me at all. I'm very upset and no one will help me out.

If I could put no stars then it would be perfect, I emailed my processor with an issue and she never responded to confirm or deny what I had an issue with. Horrible experience, wish I had never decided to refinance my home just because of this. The other lenders I have dealt with for my mortgages were always extremely quick to respond, but for some reason these guys won't even give you the time of day to quell your issues or explain anything, they can only ghost the whole process on you. So if you ask me do not deal with this lender, I would have you see cornerstone home lending, they are great and are always available.
