Devin is knowledgeable and was professional at all times. My complaints are with communication, which is on New American in general. Devin attempted to keep us up to date on the process, but we only saw one email outlining the 5 steps our loan would go through. It would have been nice to see all 5. Additionally, it was not clear whom I should be emailing with a specific question during any step in the process. I emailed everyone, and DID get responses in a timely manner, but it felt confusing.

Initial meeting was great - Tonya is friendly and very knowledgeable. Later on, 2 things were frustrating. 1. Initial estimate for prepaids and reserves provided was about half of what it ended up at. This could have been solely due to the estimated house price, but it was still sticker shock. 2. We had a lot of questions about the disclosure/process/how to provide documents as first time home buyers, and responses from Tonya/her team took a bit longer than we would have liked.

We were informed that it’s an easier process to refinance since we already have the loan through them. It felt like it wasn’t any easier.
