The initial conversations were fantastic. Once I selected a home and had an offer accepted is when it went down hill. There was a constant breakdown of communications and a lack of upheld expectations. I was never provoded updates, I had to provide the same documents multiple times and was constantly surprised with new information at the last minute and there was 0 front loading. I was provided wrong information multiple times. Even my realtor and lawyer commented at how unorganized my lender was. To the point my realtor was tempted to ask me to cancel the process and start new, of course after I mentioned I was contemplated canceling my loan on two separate occasions.

The communication was horrible. Every time I spoke to Gillen it’s like something up would pop up. The Initial quote she gave us was $300-$400 less than what it actually came out to be. The home owners insurance she quoted us on our mortgage was $1,200 for the entire year. There isn’t a policy that is that cheap. It doesn’t exist. Therefore, we had to come up with the difference at closing. Which was about $2000. Even if you google cost of home insurance for our area, you get an idea of at least where to start. She didn’t even do that. She never explained the points to us until the very end. When I asked about some of the fees she said, oh that’s not my area…you’ll need to speak to the processor. What?! How does she not know what the fees are? As a first time home buyer, it was a horrible experience.

Communication! The performance was worse than horrible. The process took 5 months to close through no fault of mine. They would ask for documents that I had sent weeks before, that happened on several occasions. They would tell me they had everything to close then ask for more docs to stall another week or more. up to the 2 days after the closing was scheduled they asked for another doc that they already had another stall tactic a week later we closed. This company acts like its their first day.

From start to finish it was like pulling teeth to get Bridgette to do anything for the loan. We started communicating in August about starting the loan but she actually did not submit my application until October when I finally told her to stop stalling or I would find another lender. Big red flag this was going to be a bad experience, I should have listen to myself. She would not call me back to save her life until I blasted her on a group email with the other members of the team helping with my loan. Jessica from the reno team was a great help! Only bright light in the whole transaction! Bridgett, the closer, funder or someone requested my escrows be applied to my balance instead of refunded to me and when I tried to get it corrected I was told my lock would expire and I would have to pay an extension fee for your company's error. I also reached out to Bridgette's boss Milt he took my call heard my concerns and said he would look into it and call me back...I assume he is doing some deep diving because I am still waiting for that call. We closed Dec1st should of funded on Dec 6th but on the 6th the title company was calling to say we could not fund because they still did not have the docs needed. We resigned on 12/7. Very Disappointed with how things were handled with no apology. I am also a lender so I understand the business. This was just disrespectful and careless to say the least!

The process was longer than expected and the miscommunication on Garcia part was in my opinion why this took so long . I like transparency and I feel I did not receive that. I do want to give a shout out to his assistant Adriana! her approach was always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and willing to make this process less stressful.

Better communication. Numerous calls and emails from me was straight up ignored until I called the general number and asked someone to get Manny or Latoiya. It was extremely frustrating and I will never recommend NAF to anyone.
