We got NO communication for a week. Come to find out Nick had Covid19. But, it still would have been nice to hear something someone. We went a week after the estimate was done. We figured the loan was up in the air and may not work.... Then, every thing was a go a week later. But for that we my wife and I were worried.

Better communication on what the process will require and when. For example, I asked if there was anything that needed to be done from my end and was told no. Then a few days later was told I needed to retrieve a few documents which were difficult to retrieve by that time. Being given more information on what to expect ahead of time would be helpful.

Oh, it IS memorable. But the memory is more negative than I would think a company such as New American Funding would like. What you want to revise that to say is, "was not more positive." I also feel you either (a) have friends and family writing your reviews, or, (b)you were hoping that we would rescind. I don't think we were your ideal client. There are a lot of things that would have made it better but usually I charge $85 an hour to render my opinion as my business background is in PR and Advertising. I get the feeling that our account was not the kind of client you usually deal with. If I had known when I first connected with you folks, that it would take four months-plus to fund and close a simple VA loan at the rate you quoted originally, I would never have stayed with you. You may be at the pinnacle of best business practices, but from my experience, you need help where the average consumer comes into play. Up and down, back and forth with the quotes and the rates, and the excuses. As one of my more eccentric bosses (in Business and Consumer Financial Planning and Real Estate Acquisition) used to say "I'll listen to reasons, but not excuses." By all means, make me-- the small client-- feel responsible, because I held things up by being in the hospital for nine days, and unable to access certain records (again) that were requested. It's funny. No one took care of our requests and needs immediately but you wanted what you wanted immediately!! It was quite the subtle discrimination. Maybe it's ageism--hypothetically, of course--and you didn't know we were in our mid-seventies, and if you had, you would have found a way to walk away early in the game. That said... The first area I would tackle is your communication systems. The right hand ...etc When you are dealing with a small client like us, you have to have a different approach. I could not give you more than three stars for any of your questions. As much as we seemed to click with Drue Simmons, and as likable and intelligent as he will remain in our memory, we could train him to be a better asset (and salesperson) for New American. He has all the right stuff, but communication systems within YOUR ORGANIZATION are not up to snuff. If you want to know more about my services, I am on LinkedIn under Claire Morris Dobie. My partner is a B2B expert. See more of her at content runway.com Thank you for taking time to read some of this. Claire Dobie

The entire process was way too long and communication was a big part of it. The turnaround time and underwriting process needs to be better

I was told to repair a broken window pane in one of my basement windows. After completion it took over a week for Ruby to get the appraiser lined up which resulted in a rate lock extension. I was told that I would not have to pay for the extension because technically it was on y’all that it took that long. In regard to the repair, I communicated every step of the way. Let you know how long it would take to be repaired, when my appointment was as well as when it was completed. In the end I believe I paid for all or part of the rate lock extension. I just didn’t appreciate feeling like I couldn’t quite believe everything I was being told. Ryan was very nice and helpful and had a great attitude; however, there were several times that I would ask a question and the answer would be “let me ask my manager and get back to you” and I would wait a few days and have to reach back out to him again.

The day before our closing and the day of our closing, were perhaps the most stressful days of what should have been an exciting experience. These issues were not due to us as the buyers, perhaps it would be beneficial to others if things were done on the business side of things more promptly. It left an extremely bad impression on myself, my family, and ultimately cost me more money out of pocket to movers, etc. because other people dropped the ball on what may be my our last home purchase of our lives.
