Little regard for the security of my data. My SPI was emailed to me, unencrypted. I relied on email updates (that I sometimes had to request) to understand where I was at in the process. No portal that I could access to see status. Received updates from several different people, it became unclear who my primary point of contact should be. Overall experience felt disjointed compared to other loan applications/financial products that I've used in the past (best in recent memory: Earnest)

I can count the times I spoke to Kelley Sullivan on 1 hand. Occasionally I would get an AUTOMATED EMAIL from her advising me what stage the loan was in. The AWESOME NEWS is that she has an Assistant named Brandy Kneisley. I’m so Thankful for Brandy and everything she did to get me through the process. She was very polite, personable and understood the process. The majority of the questions I asked, she was able to answer without going to her manager. Brandy was very helpful and customer oriented. Brandy was patient and understanding. I also spoke several times to Tina Parker. She was also great to work with. Both Brandy and Tina were always available when I called. Brandy would answer my calls when completing her lunch hour and Tina would respond to my calls after hours, due to the time difference between CA. and GA. Please convey my appreciation to them both. GREAT SUPPORT TEAM.

Better guidance given to first time homebuyers. Most of the time I felt lost in the process and everyone assumed I knew what all the real estate terms and jargon meant. I had to call to ask for clarification for certain things. On top of new amercian funding not knowing how a VA loan works after I provided documentation from the handbook about certain rules and was still asked to go against it. Also was not given final closing disclosure to review until signing at title company.
