So, this survey isn't fair. John Wash was not really the problem. The processing of this loan was a nightmare. John was helpful but your underwriters and processors were just terrible. What a horrible experience for my first time home buyers to have.

Better communication towards the client. I understand business is business but, a message saying a rough time estimate would be great. From sources, if they were actually caring about my loan, it should have been processed within 45 days NOT TWO MONTHS. Due to the late emails, not understanding my situation, and the fact that they were trying to make me break a legal contract I signed with my job, made us become homeless for TWO WEEKS. I had to force all of my 401k savings out, borrow, and work side jobs just to put us into a Hotel with a Baby and Two dogs. Would I recommend people to NAF, maybe. Would I recommend people to Matt Edwards, I believe so, only if he wasn't with NAF. Matt at the end did a lot more for me than anyone else and I was surprised to say the least. His communication even with my realtor, wasn't the greatest. I would have loved a "get back to you soon" or anything stating that he is busy rather than waiting and pushing my deadline. There was also some terrible communication within the NAF team. I would be asked by three separate individuals for a document, then come two weeks later, it was never submitted. I also ran into a bad issue with the HR department. I simply complained about the communication, not to take my loan officer of off my loan, and they temporarily did so. Another issue with HR, I was trying to explain to them that I couldn't give my job sites HR phone number to them or my manager due to our confidentiality agreement that I signed, my job site refused it and instead, they SENT ME AN EMPLOYEE VERIFICATION LETTER FROM HEADQUARTERS stating my contribution and take outs. My deposit numbers were on all PAYSTUBS and the exact amount from my paystub was deposited into my Capitol One. All sent and documented with NAF. So to say that they can't process my loan because I can't prove that I work at a job? Okay that makes sence when I am the only income in an apartment, I payed insurance, car loan, rent and others and they all were factual statements. So to the underwriter who wanted to stop the progression of my loan, thank you for making myself and my family homeless for TWO weeks and not a single care was given. That process that I discussed was disgusting and wouldn't recommend others to NAF for that purpose. I even given NAF an open line HR support specifically for lenders to call for employment verification, but "It has to come from my job site". Great research on our company!! There are hundreds of job sites that you can see publicly and they all run under the same HR umbrella. To summarize, am I happy I have my loan with NAF? No. I should have trusted my gut at the beginning and went with a different company. To the underwriter, I understand your a human but have some sympathy and actually know your client and respond in professional time frames. To Carlos in HR, you almost dropped the ball by almost completely interrupting the loan process (which was halted for more than a week), I never claimed that I was pursuing legal action agaisnt NAF, I stated that I had an attorney look at my work documents to see if there was a way that NAF can receive a phone call from my site. Finally to Matt Edwards, he is a solid guy, I believe we both had issues with communication, yes I wished a different route but he made up for it at the end and is still continuing to help me after my loan has been granted. Matt Edwards = 8/10, NAF and underwriters = 4/10.

This is not specifically feedback for Brian but the whole team and process. 1. The biggest problem I had started right from the beginning. I had reached out to NAF back in July and got connected to a Djuan Ballinger. I explained to him very precisely that I wanted a second mortgage, not a cash out refinance. He tried to "correct" me and steer me toward a cash out refinance. Then, he never contacted me again and didn't respond to my inquires. 2. I decided to call NAF again in early August and try to speak to a different loan officer, and so got connected with Orlando Gonzalez. I will say right up front that he was more friendly, helpful, and responsive and actually helped me, which I appreciate. But again, I tried to explain that I wanted a second mortgage, and he seemed to have some difficulty with the phrase "second mortgage" and seemed to keep trying to "sell" me a cash out refinance. He did eventually understand and put together the proper loan paperwork, however, my loan was in the system throughout the process as "cash out refinance", and reached as far as the loan processor Megan, as a cash out refinance. 3. There seemed to be about 2-3 extra parties involved in closing this loan, which is fine, but Megan did not seem to know what I should expect in terms of the closing process, so I didn't learn until after I had actually signed the documents (the transaction was effective as of my signing of them) that I wouldn't be paid out my due proceeds immediately but until Friday, and the money hadn't even been transferred from NAF to the settlement company as of when I called Friday morning to check on the transaction. Also, Friday is a poor choice of days to settle on in general but this one was even worse because we were going into a bank holiday weekend. This could have delayed the payout even more had something gone wrong.

The experience was okay. However, the communication process could have been a little better.

Alexis was extremely nice and seemed very knowledgeable but at the very end of the loan process prior to closing, I left a voice message and have yet to hear back. Peyton communicated very well ! The settlement company was very difficult to get in touch with when i had an issue at funding time so Peyton stepped in as a go between. Also settlement company sent the 2 payoff checks for my credit cards to me instead of actually paying them directly as the settlement company did when I refinanced with NAF the 1st time in May of 2022. Overall my experience was good and it was very timely. Thank You !
