We have used New American Funding 3 times in the past with a different agent. Our agent was not available for this transaction so we were referred to Scott. Our biggest issue was the lack of communication and lack of willingness to explain the loan process and steps as we went through the transaction. We received 1 email updating us that we had progressed to step 2 and then never received a follow up step progression. We also never even received a phone call that our loan had funded.

This process was bad there was no communication, lack of where I was at during the whole process witch took way to long. I was not happy with the end result the money back was wrong, and the payment was different. I had to call & email many times to find out what was going on. At the end of the painful process NEW AMERICAN should have people in place to take great care of there customers. This is one of the biggest processes in peoples lives.

I was bounced around to 3 loan personnel, who obviously didn't take notes as I had to answer the same inquiries multiple time. The Loan personnel would go silent for a month, then ask for a ton of documentation, then go away for another month. This loan took 7 months to close from start to finish. Every time I thought we were done I was asked for more documentation, more proof that I that I would be able to pay off the loan in the future. >740 credit, 60% LTV, just incredible, Never Again.

Julie Yassa helped us during the initial phase of collecting information and providing us with a quote for the loan. While following up with her closer to our closing date, she reassured us everything was in order. When we didn’t hear about our loan approval we followed up and was met with hostility. Julie said that we may have to postpone our closing as they weren’t done with approval process the last business day before closing even though we provided all the paperwork weeks in advance.

Drew was great the first three weeks of the application process. He answered all of my phone calls and then something happened. We are not sure why he stopped answering our calls, emails or any attemp to reach him. We were very frustrated. We Don't understand why after 90 days we had to start a new loan application. Christine Obermeyr, "corporate" and others were questioned about the lack of communication, but no explanation was given. Sincerely, John Brownell

Better communication once we got closer to the closing process. Everything in the beginning was awesome, but once Steffany took over things became crazy.

My loan process was full of errors and delays. From initial contact it too almost 6 months to get a Refi from NAF. I had to personally start contacting VP's to make sure things were done right. Although everyone was very nice, I feel like I would have had a much better experience going with a local lender.
