More knowledge of the loan process and better communication would have helped. Numbers keep changing, there were hidden fees and just wrong information was given. Rogelio needed to be more honest with us up front. We felt lied to and would have never moved forward with him had we known what the right information was from the beginning. We felt as if we were just another number/commission check and our best interest was not in his hands. The loan process was too long, and stressful.

Being more forthcoming with information. We were supposed to close on October 1st, and closed on the 26th. In between that time we received many many messages (almost on a daily basis) that the docs were going out, but instead of docs going out, more questions were being asked. Which tells me that either our information was not being looked at clearly before the word was going out or or we were being told the docs were going out to “shut us up”. Home buying is stressful for everyone, but I feel

Things needed: Better communication. Timeliness in getting this transaction closed. Too many people involved to efficiently get the job done. (Normal transactions close in 6 weeks this took 4 months and almost lost the deal.) Kristen was pleasant and perhaps not all of the delays were her fault, but all realtors were ready to close months earlier as well as buyer and seller. Too many people on lenders end involved and tons of red tape and approval process!

Complete lack in communication. Loan was originated in August, 2020 and we closed in January, 2021. I do not see this is acceptable. Was never contacted before loan was locked to confirm rate and was not contacted to confirm final loan amount before closing.

The whole refinance process was unsatisfactory, not necessarily a problem with Alex, but with newamerican as a whole. Internal communication was non-existent as we were constantly asked with extreme urgency and at odd hours for documentation we already provided. We also received conflicting paper documents in the mail regarding both cancellation and setup of autopay. Our mortgage was then sold to Wells Fargo with errors in our personal info (another constant throughout the process).

We did not receive timely replies to emails, calls, or texts looking for simple things like status updates or confirmation of documents received. In several cases it was clear that the different members of our team (Darcey, Cesar, Renata) were not communicating where things were out or things that needed to be followed up on. Cesar was helpful when we did manage to make contact and is knowledgeable and a good communicator in that sense (and in general a nice guy) but he is hard to get a hold of.

I will not be selecting New American Funding to refinance when interest rates lower, nor will I refer NAF to any of my friends. This is why: Riana - Michelle Michelle's emails are rude. Bonnie spoke with her and she was pleasant over the phone, however her emails were unpleasant. We had a closing date from day one. Why didn't R or M ensure everything was in order before the final week? M stated that this situation is due to "the borrower" providing documentation at a late date. I beg to differ. The late closing was due to advice from Riana on adding another party to the mortgage. Riana told me Michelle holds her submissions to the underwriter until they are complete, this delayed my mortgage because it wasn't complete when she finally submitted it.
