Bien did very little to help, communicate or even understand the situation we were in. We had minimal contact during the process (it was started by Matt Sandgren and he was EXCELLENT). Bien "took it over" from him at one point because of Matt's promotion, but Bien largely phoned it in for the during. The only saving grace was Chantall and Peyton, who were OUTSTANDING in their communication and handling of all the details. Bien was completely out of the loop (when he called me one time, there was a long chain of emails between me, Peyton and Chantall and from Bien's response, I could tell he had not read a single one of them and asked me redundant questions that had long been resolved by those two highly competent ladies behind the scenes. Very disappointing to work with Bien.

Refinance process started off great, half way thru the process it was very difficult to get a hold of Dalia via phone and she would not return my calls. I initially told that I would have my appraisal fee reimburse at closing its now been 2 weeks and I have not been reimburse.

I would have liked more anticipatory guidance around what to expect throughout the process. I had to upload some of the documents multiple times because “they weren’t going through.” When I called tech support they did not solve my technical issues. I continued with your company because of the good interest rate.

More thorough communication would have been useful. We had to reach out to Kara to check the status of the rates to lock in because we noticed the rates going up and closing was about a month away. That same day I even reached out to my previous mortgage lender and she told me that she had contacted her clients the week prior to take advantage of the rates prior to the anticipated increase. It would have been nice to have gotten the same opportunity. In my experience my past mortgage lenders were watching the market closely and providing guidance so I definitely felt they had my best interest at heart.

We were sent items to sign before anything was explained to us. Kara was hard to get in touch with initially so Ryan finally stepped in to help with communication. It seemed like some documents were sent very last minute as our Broker was waiting on us to give them the final numbers from New American. I definitely would not refer anyone at this point. We only new American because we got a credit with our builder but if that wasn’t the case we would have used our previous lender. We had a much better experience and communication when we used Bell bank for our last home mortgage.

Better communication would of helped. I had to find out information from my realitor because my lender would email her and not me. For instance, I had to find out thru my realitor that my mortgage agent couldn't move forward to send my paperwork into the USDA due to not bring able to get ahold of my HR officer who filled out my income verification. I was notified of this 4 days before my initial closing date. If I was told sooner i could have sped up the process. It ended up delaying my closing.
