i don't feel like their was any communication.... emails were sent for signatures but i was not getting calls to let me know what was being sent and if i had any questions... i understand that this is done by them every day but for me it was new and scary as i am a single women.... I will say Anna Valles was pleasant and did communicate with me after i complained.... overall i did appreciate that they worked hard to get my stuff done in a timely manner .....

COMMUNICATION! I was not pleased with me constantly having to reach out and get status updates on our loan. Instead of keeping us informed of all the hiccups in the process, it was me weekly reaching out to get information. Not a good way to do business!

Give a detailed list of required documents at the very beginning. I kept getting asked for documents and when I would turn them in, I would get another email asking for more. It came down to the final few days before close before I was given the clear to close. Also I have never heard of supplying photographic proof of a relationship to obtain a loan. The things asked for were way over the top.

To clarify, Matt was very friendly - overly excited would be a more appropriate term. I don't think emoji's are very professional in communication and all of his emails had them - and multiple ones - but that's just me personally when it comes to business. However, we will not be using New American Funding anymore going forward based on two negative experiences, the nail in the coffin being Matt's. We clearly communicated with Matt - and several times in email - that New American was paying our CC balance out of the loan and were told the loan amount would be "X" amount. After asking several times in email that the numbers weren't adding up, we weren't seeing his quotes reflecting in the loan estimate, etc, he assured us it was there. When it came time to have a loan processor involved, we were then told it did not reflect in what he quoted us and were not getting several thousand less "Y" than what we were told. We have all the email conversations saved and there are several where Matt confirmed over and over it was factored in. I gave him an opportunity to admit his mistake and take ownership - he did not and kept skirting around it with excuses and then lied saying we never discussed officially to have CC payments done and had only casually talked about it in the beginning. Because he chose not to take ownership of his mistake and then lied, we have chosen not to work with New American again going forward. It left a very sour taste in our mouth and the complications were around what we had already told contractors and planned work around what we should have been getting according to Matt and were now not. Matt is a very nice guy but integrity and ownership is key. The other issue unrelated to Matt dealt with Jonathan Marloe and being provided incorrect information, a similar situation that cost us in the end and his manager had to take over and help us to ensure things were being done correctly. It just hasn't been an overall pleasant experience with New American when it comes to the finale of things.

Very little communication from lender to realtor which surprising because the two other lenders I use with New American are calling, texting and emailing me to make sure we are all on the same page.

This refinance caused my overall payment to go up $50/month instead of down $200 as suggested by Daniel. I'm not sure if he didn't understand what I was paying. My title was messed up from a previous loan so I went through with this to clear up title issues.
