I received a request for information days after the request was initiated within the company (as shown by the email thread timestamp), items were requested of me that were not actually required and therefore were not investigated fully by the team and cost us, plus the documents on the day of signing contained numerous errors that made our document signing twice as long forcing us, the consumers, to catch all of the errors to make sure we didn’t have to do this process all over again.

Matthew was very pushy and demanding. Despite asking numerous times to see what the payments would be like he wouldn't and just kept telling me that the refinancing 20 year loan was a better deal than a 30 year loan. I wanted to make my payments less since I decided to go to school full-time. I spoke with the person who I originally got my mortgage and he said don't let them switch you because you can never go back to a 30 year, but he refused to show me. Matthew also would call me in the middle of the day, while I was working and couldn't talk, aggressively calling me 3 times back to back. On the day of my signing he called me to tell at me to sign the paperwork online like I'm an idiot. No, I don't like Matthew Hoffman and I did not enjoy our working relationship and hope I never have to work with him again.

I kept putting this survey off because I wanted to give the dust time to settle and my frustration level to go down so I could focus on the positive. Well, enough time has passed and this is where I'm at. I would like to use this portion to say that Lauren Rooney did an outstanding job and 5 stars all around for her. Though she was the processor in this transaction, she was my most consistent, reliable, and helpful source of information I had throughout the transaction. If not for her I probably would have brought my mortgage elsewhere. Aside of Lauren, I felt as though my questions and concerns were not a priority when I needed or wanted info and were met with insincere and inconvenienced tones yet on the other hand when say Matthew needed or wanted something from me I would get blasted from every communication angle with subjects like ASAP, immediately, etc. I had high hopes going in with Credit Karma's recommendation but I would say overall it was average or below. And again, that's thanks to Lauren Rooney. PS: When you ask your consultant to explain or break down why closing costs are so high ($8k on a $110k refi) they shouldn't be answered with such things as "that's just what they run right now" or just side stepping the question altogether. Lauren saved this loan for NAF. I almost brought my refi to a number of financial institutions that had me pre-approved on multiple occasions. The only reason(s) I didn't was that I already had so much time wrapped with NAF and you already had all my info. I'm a single father with 2 young boys working 60 hrs a week. My spare time is almost non existent. So, I chose to tough it out instead of starting from scratch. On top of that the closing costs were absolutely ridiculous but I chose to be with my children instead of bartering over thousands of dollars. My kids mean more to me than a few grand. I wish NAF felt a few grand was worth my continued business, a good review, and positive word of mouth recommendations but apparently not. Simply put I feel a little taken advantage of and the whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth.

Matthew's communication always seamed rushed and did not allow me to ask questions, which led to some miscommunication. He also cut Valencia off during our group calls numerous times on different occasions. Dealing with Matthew led to more frustration and stress. If he had slowed down and not cut people off, we would have had a more pleasant experience.

We were grateful that the loan closed timely and the communication with Brad's assistant, Pam, was great at the beginning. I never once spoke to Brad. I had to log into the portal to find out what my interest rate, points, etc. were. It is my understanding that Brad's assistant was going through some personal issues during our closing so I can understand the lack of communication in the end. As I stated before, the loan did close on time and the job was done, however, if you like any sort of communication or advice, I would probably go elsewhere. If you just need a timely closure with zero advice or communication, Brad would likey do a great job.

Amendment to my previous post, the end result was OK, just wish the communication would have been better, to be scolded in a email for expressing my feelings was not good. Then to be told I email too much and in the 200-500 emails received mines would not be read. SMH
