Better communication. Docs were late to title company. Buyer apparently was not aware of exact instructions on bank wires. I called with no answer until I double dialed. Needless to say, my buyer seemed satisfied but as an agent, communication and team work with the lender, and title is very important. There is room for improvement.

I have very bad experience with this lender. One day received one offer code by mail and I called them. Initial step they told one rate and next day they changed rate. Even though my Credit report is excellent. So totally waste of time and don't consider them for refinance.

One of the absolute worst closing experiences of my life due to lack of timely feedback from our loan processor and the Underwriting Dept. I selected this company because of its overall review ratings and the recommendation from Nerd Wallet but the level of customer service received in the 3 weeks prior to closing was totally unacceptable. As a result we missed our closing date and I found the indifference to that from this company to be appalling. Ashley Kasperski, our loan consultant and primary point of contact was however outstanding in communicating and attempting to bridge the gap in silos within this company that were otherwise nonresponsive. If not for Ashley, we would definitely have switched mortgage companies in the 11th hour. These 2 stars are for Ashley because the loan processor and the Underwriting department all get a big fat ZERO on this transaction. On the upside, we did get a very favorable interest rate that beat others in the market but it was not worth the stress to the closing table! Would not recommend this company unless you have low expectations on communication, feedback and plenty of time to get to closing with your seller.

Better communication. Not so much unnecessary paperwork. Call the buyer instead of text message.

Good loan officer and processor, but the underwriter and title company were out of control with their demands, in my opinion. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend New American Funding.

John Golobic is great! Rest of company and staff not so much!

Unorganized, bad communication, phone calls went unanswered and email responses delayed at critical moments during the loan process. Very stressful at times during the loan process. Incorrect wiring instructions where giving so the wire down payment went into the wrong account. I have two stars rather than zero because the loan agent was pleasant and we did eventually get the loan finished. However, I wouldn’t use this company again.

Easily the worst financial transaction I have been a part of! Loan officer was nice but overall experience was awful. Over 75 emails & at least a dozen phone calls and rarely got a straight answer. The processor/underwriter was apparently only able to copy & paste company policies. No matter how many times I would ask why something was needed or for verification of something, I would get the same canned reply. Most frustrating part was being forced to get flood insurance when had not needed for the previous 10 years of owning home. Even the flood policy issued by the insurer clearly states NOT in a flood zone. Regardless, New American did not care - just kept sending their canned response, or policy that I MUST carry. Also, as annoying, was the change in costs/credits at the last second - only disclosed at the final signing. So, was basically put in a position of sign & close, or, start the 3 month process over! I get some values may change, but to have over $550 in lender credits vanish at signing? Never did get an explanation...crickets since they got their commission. I did give 2 stars as the deal was completed so 1 star seemed unfair. However, I would HIGHLY suggest looking elsewhere and save yourself the pain of dealing with New American!
