Michael, the senior loan processor, was knowledgeable and responsive which was very important. However, he the good ends there with New American Funding. Michael rarely explained anything. Google, as always, was a fantastic ally. The biggest issue is that he constantly pushed me to use his recommended realtor to save $1,000. Unfortunately, the realtor was an absolute nightmare. As a first time homebuyer, it really ruined the home buying process. After I decided not to use him, Michael kept harping on how I didn't make a smart decision and won't get to save money. When I explained how terrible the realtor was, he tried to exonerate himself from any responsibility. It was incredibly rude. I. Addition to that, his team never got back to us in a timely manner. Often there were things I needed to complete at the very last second. One time, due to an error on their part, I had to redo a verification process. When I was sent a link to recomplete it, the link was expired as it wasn't forwarded to me within 5 days of the request. I would absolutely not recommend this company.

The level of communication between the lender an myself was very poor and misleading. I had a very uncommon case but there was a lot of miss information given to me throughout the process. I'm glad it was all able to be taken care of but I would of appreciated transparency with the transaction.

Methods of communication, after making it clear extremely early on in my dealings with Scott my most preferred method of contact is via email, not direct phonecalls - this seems to have been disregarded mostly and phone was nearly always the go-to approach taken despite this being unsuitable due to my own work commitments. As a first-time US homeowner I was also never satisfied by any explanations or timelines of what was required from me in the process until I repeatedly received urgent emails requesting the completion of various documents. There was never a heads up on what was coming next or an FYI - check for X in the coming days.

Communication is key, I would go a week without getting any updates or information on what was going on. Most conversations were unclear and short.

Diana was great but the processing agent that finalized the paperwork was not helpful and made many errors that were a pain to correct and could have cost me money.
