Yes, the closing was not ok. The info to attorney was not timely, the final statement was received late, so wire was delayed. Should have happened 3 days before close and not on day of closing. My buyers were not thrilled. Peter said we were fine Friday afternoon.

I’m sure Stephen did the best he could with the circumstances but we were ill advised and left homeless for almost a month. Soon after the pre approval Stephen became less patient with us and very temperamental regarding the situation. He tried to rectify the situation I’m sure he did all he could. It just could have been handled better in our opinion.

The only reason I did not mark 'unpleasant' is because Laurie was always very nice, that was never the problem. Her communication has opportunities. I was well aware that my clients would not be easy to approve, but the worst part of having clients in that situtaion is hearing very little from the lender as we near closing. Their file was not attended to for three days prior to the closing date, which resulted in the delay of closing by one day. This may not seem like a big deal, but it affects my reputation as an agent. If it were not for me pushing for results and next steps while Laurie and her underwriter were on vacation in the days prior to close, all while I was with a family member in hospice, I do not think we would have even closed a day later. All due respect, I will not be recommending New American Funding for any other transactions.

It felt like I had to advocate for communication rather than receiving it. In the final days of the process, despite my self-advocacy, the estimate for my loan was short and it caused a great deal of stress. Thankfully, my loan officer stepped up to handle it, but the stressed it caused seemed unnecessary. Perhaps loan officers have too much on their plate? This should be rectified so that clients don’t end up feeling like they have been forgotten.

Better comm and timing. Was told differ things by differ people. Too much ladt minute changes was stressful. Also fees high. Would not go here again
